"Sigh."

The slight sound cause me to pause and look up from my book just to find Rachel meandering into our dorm room.

"Sigh!"

She changed her course of action, this time she plopped herself on to her bed with a loud

THUMP!

Rolling my eyes, I turned the corner of my book over before closing it and placing it on the bedside table, and faced Rach.

"Hey how are you?" I said sarcastically.

"Me, oh I'm fine."

"You sure about that mate?"

"Well, since you asked, I guess I feel down."

"Pray, tell, why?"

"Home-sick," she sat up on one arm and faced me her brunette hair sprayed all over her face, "It's almost Christmas and this is is family time buying presents you know how it is."

"Yeah," more like knew how it was. When dad died Mum couldn't handle family events that's when the hurt got too big for her to handle.

"Do you think they'll let us leave? I mean we all know the seriousness of the situation. I'm sure none of us would jerpodise that. Even our parents know so there are really no issues."

"Maybe?" I shrugged, "honestly I don't know."

"Could you, you know ask?"

"Me? Why me? You ask."

"You're the one who speaks the Beta. We all think it makes sense for you to be the one to ask."

"All?"

"Oh yeah, we all got together and discussed it, and decided that it would be better for you to ask."

"That's too much pressure! What if he says no? I don't want that all to be on me."

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure none of them are silly enough to think that you sabotaged us," she paused, "I mean you won't right?"

"Fuck you."

"Sorry I gots to know."

"Whatever. So when is this going down?"

"Yeah about that. We wrote a note to the Beta saying you wanted to talk with him," her voice nonchalant.

"You what?!"

"Like in the next 20 minutes," she said calmly glancing at the clock.

"I haven't even planned what I'm going to say! I'm not even fully dressed," I exclaimed pulling off my pyjamas.

"Well you're gonna have to be quick then. I don't think the Beta appreciates tardiness."

"Ughhh!"
