"Achi ladki hai isiliye toh bol raha hun, usski shaadi mere se kyun kara rahe ho. Mere type ki nahi hai. Woh iss ghar ki babu toh ban jayegi par meri patni nahi ban payegi. Puri life adjust karne main chali jaegi."

"Teri bhabi ko bhi papa ne chuna tha, maine toh aaj tak adjust nahi kiya."

"Wahi toh, papa ek achi bahu toh dhund sakte hai par mere liye patni nahi. Aur main aapke jaisa thodi hun."

"Tu tension mat le. Ye sab pre-marital stress hai aur kuch nahi. Shaadi hote hin sab thik ho jayega. Acha, tu baith main baaki sab se mil ke aata hun." Aadarsh said and got up to leave while Lakshya tried to stop him.

Shekhar had gotten a call from Sharmistha who informed him about the real Lakshya. He was puzzled due to this. Parvati was convinced they were doing it out of envy but was doubtful. In these years, Sharmistha never contacted him even once. It was always him who contacted her and it was not in her character to do such a terrible thing to anyone. So he decided to investigate this issue himself. Lakshya was getting nervous looking at Shekhar who staring at him with doubt. 

"Lakshya" Shekhar called him.

"Ji papa, I mean uncle, I mean Shekhar ji." Lakshya spouted in nervousness.

"Tum mujhe jo tumhe thik lege, bula sakte ho. Beta uss din hum tumhare ghar aaye the, tum the nahi toh mil nahi paye. Toh ek kam karte hai, hum tumhe apna ghar dikhate hai, issi bahane baat bhi hojayegi."Shekhar proposed but Lakshya kept denying him. Finally, Durga Prasad intervened and sent him with Shekhar. Shekhar brought him to the balcony to talk.

"Lakshya, humari beti Ragini bahut sidhi aur sanskari hai. Hume pata hai ki woh jis bhi ghar jayegi, usse swarg bana degi. Uske sanskar ese hai ki rishta tay hone se lekar aaj tak, ussne hum se koi sawaal nahi pucha. Toh ese mein ladke ko parakhne ki sari zimmedari hum par aajati hai. Taki kal ko koi unch nich na ho. Bas isiliye hum tumse kuch sawaal karna chahte hai."

"Ye jo tum humare sammne khade ho, kya yehi tumhara assli roop hai," Shekhar asked. Lakshya just stood there silently, contemplating his next plane of action. when he tried to deny being anything else, at that time, Kavya came there and told everything about his dual life to Shekhar. At this Lakshya came down and acted being hurt over Shekhar's questions as this would help to break the engagement. At this Durga Prasad and Deendayal became enraged. Kavya had also come down with them and was watching the situation unfold.

"Shekharji, aapko pata hai na ki ye sawaal aapne Lakshya par nahi humari parwarish pe kia hai."Durga Prasad informed.

"Durga Prasadji, bura mat maniye humari eklauti beti ke vabishya ka sawaal hai."Shekhar replied.

"Aap sab bade, meri wajah se lade, ye mujhe bikul bhi acha nahi lag raha. Par ye bhi sach hai ki uncleji ko mujh pe shak hai aur kal ko Ragini ko bhi ho sakta hai. Isiliye ye acha hoga ki ye rishta yahi khatam karde." Lakshya proposed but Durga Prasad shut him up. He could not show his happiness publicly but inside he was getting very happy as this engagement will break.

"Shekharji aapko ye batana hoga ki aapko ye galat jaankari kisne di?" Durga Prasad asked.

"Mujhe ek call aaya tha. Call karne wale ne mujhe ye jaankari di. Par ye zaroori nahi hai. Zaroori sach jaanna hai."Shekhar replied.

"Toh sach ye hai ki iss waqt sirf aapki beti ka bhabishya hin nahi humare ghar ki izzat bhi daau pe lagi hai." Durga Prasad said.

"Bhai sa, sahi keh rahe hai. Kya pata humare samaj se kisi ne jo humse jalan rakhta ho, ussne aapko ye galat information di ho." Ram added.

"Bataiye Shekharji." Durga Prasad insisted. So, Kavya then interrupted them and informed them that it was her mother. Parvati was furious and told to stop trying to break Ragini's engagement. She told them about Lakshya being lucky. Durga Prasad was furious and he declared that the engagement can't happen but before going he wanted to prove her wrong so he asked Lakshya to call up his friend, Omi who was half asleep and told the truth to everyone. Everyone was shocked to know the truth. Then Kavya went home from there.
