kenma had just entered his classroom, he could hear things that other people couldn't, since cats have way better hearing

he heard kuroos voice and his ears perked up, kenma noticed the teacher wasn't there so he left the classroom and saw a hallway, he went in the hallway so he was able to see kuroo but kuroo couldn't see him

he saw a girl was holding his wrist, kenma was confused but didn't assume since he had no right to

"i- um.. i just wanted to say .. t-that i like y-you.. and i.. was wondering if y-you wanted to go o-on a d-d-date with me.." kenma furrowed his eyebrows

i shouldn't be listening to this.. kenma was about to leave when he hears kuroo response "i'm sorry, but i like someone else" kenma eyes widened

HUH ? .. saber do you think it's me ..? no it can't be it's definitely you, stop being dense for once

"is it that loner you were walking with" the girl said and kenma frowned "he's not a loner so, please refrain from calling him that, and his name is kenma, and yes.. it's him" kenma eyes widened

WHAT ITS ME.. but why i'm just a monster.. KENMA if you don't shut your ass up when i'm in control i will jump off a cliff

kenma released a small chuckle "b-but i'm better than him.. he's so boney and ugly" kenma felt his breath hitched

flash back

kenma was 5 when he first gotten the "curse" it was night time, he and his parents were watching a movie together

kenma looked out the window, at the full moon, he transformed into a kitten, his parents were shocked but were in awe on how cute he was

but saber didn't have control so he ended up transforming into a saber tooth tiger, it wasn't a huge as it is now but it was still big

the parents screamed, saber whimpered. d-don't leave.. the parents grabbed the keys and left saber alone

saber went back into a kitten and looked out the window and whimpered c-come back..

next day

kenma was in control now, he looked around the house but there wasn't any sign of his parents

"w-where's mom and dad.." kenma said softly, in the verge of tears t-they left us.. kenma screamed "W-WHOS THAT" kenma yelled in fear

i-i'm a part of you.. i'm a cat form of you.. well a saber tooth tiger to be exact w-what.. you're lying

IM NOT.. they left u-us because they're s-scared or me.. why are they scared ? because i'm a m-monster

hey ! don't call yourself a monster, that's bad. s-sorry but it's true.. they left b-because i'm scary..

kenma could hear saber whimper don't cry.. s-sorry

kenmas stomach growled i'm hungry.. how are you gonna eat ? mom and dad is gone .. they'll come back.. i'm sure of it kenma sat down in the couch to wait for his parents..

3 hours later

kenma had been in the couch for over 3 hours, waiting for his parents to return, but they never did.

he didn't know what to do, he was hungry. he stood up and walked to the pantry, he opened it and grabbed a bag of chips and started eating it

6 days later

kenma still hasn't seen his parents, all he did was eat chips, one bag a chip a day since he didn't want to eat all of them at once in case his parents never showed

kenma could tell he was losing weight, he went in the bathroom, he grabbed a step stool and looked at the mirror and grabbed his face

boney.. ugly he kept repeating those words in his head k-kenma.. you're so pretty don't call yourself ugly and boney

kenma sniffled, he got out of the step stool, and opened the front door, he saw the mail had came

there was an envelope there, he closed the door and opened the envelope

a letter..

dear kenma,

hello it's your mom, i'm sorry but me and your father won't be home. we don't know when we'll be back, but we'll send you money for food.. we're sorry.. but we can't face you knowing what you've become..

from your mother,

kenmas tear were spilling and landing on the letter, he wiped the tears and grabbed the money $6,000

don't know how much that is in yen so sorry

that's a lot.. atleast we can buy food now.. also what's your name ? i've never asked you .. i-i don't know, can you pick a name ?

kenma put a finger in his chin and made a thinking expression what about saber ? since you're a saber tooth tiger, think of it as a way to express who you really are

kenma was boney because his parents have left him, sometimes they'd forget to send him money, so he'd have to wait days, he also had to buy clothes with the money they had lend him and cat food for when saber transformed

they didn't know what he had went through.. kenma ran to the bathroom, making sure no one saw him, once he went inside the rest room

he looked at himself in the mirror i'm still boney.. and ugly.. god why can't i just gain weight.
