Forfeit

Hitoshi looked up at his opponent. Small, unassuming, plain face aside from those weird symmetrical freckles... And yet the dude won two previous rounds while barely using his quirk. Hitoshi couldn't help but wonder what kind of quirk the guy had, considering he scored 72 villain and 60 rescue points in the exam. Fucking weird but must be powerful if he destroyed so many robots. Then why didn't he use his quirk? Was he so prideful that he wanted to show "I'm better than you even if I don't use it"?

He already hated his guts, even if the only direct interaction Hitoshi had with this guy was telling him hello before Monkey pulled him aside. He probably knew about his quirk then. Great. Freaking amazing.

On the other side if he's so prideful there should be no problem with baiting him into answering. After all the stronger the quirk the more assholish the user.

Unless you were deemed to have a villain's quirk, but oh well.

Present Mic started screaming out rules. Make your opponent give up or throw them out of bounds. The second option will probably suit the oh so heroic asshole in front of him more.

"'I give up' huh?" Hitoshi said, just loud enough so the other boy would hear him. The greenie looked at him with apprehension, but he kinda looked shocked that he spoke at all. Fucking ass. "This is a fight to test the strength of your spirit. If you know what you want for your future, then you can't worry about appearances."

Present Mic screamed "READY!??" over them, and he saw Midnight shifting, probably starting to pay attention more.

Well, time for the hook.

"That Monkey was going on about his pride..."

"START!"

"...but don't you think he was dumb for throwing away his chance?"

For a second nothing happened, the boy seemed frozen, but then he bared his teeth and charged at him—

And he spoke.

"What did you say!?" Hook line and sinker, Hitoshi couldn't help but smile as his quirk took a hold on his opponent's brain.

"I win," he whispered, not really knowing whether to the boy or to himself.

"Hey, hey, what's the matter!?" Present Mic hollered above them, "It's the important first match! Liven things up!"

Well sorry to disappoint Present Mic, but you wouldn't be getting many lively matches as long as Hitoshi was participating.

"Midoriya! The match just started..!"

Midoriya's eyes were satisfyingly blank and Hitoshi had to fight with his face to not show too much glee.

"...and he's completely frozen!?"

Present Mic continued screaming something, but Hitoshi was too high on adrenaline to pay him any mind.

"You're lucky that you've been blessed Midoriya Izuku," he said, addressing the boy. Not that he would remember anything, but it was satisfying. He kept his face carefully blank as he gave him a command: "Turn around and walk out of bounds."

Present Mic started screaming again. Because Midoriya did just that.

Hah.

The boy slowly went to the bounds—it was honestly a shame that Hitoshi couldn't make him run without a chance of him slipping and brainwash losing effect—step after step bringing himself closer to losing. Perfect. Freaking perfect.

The line was closer, closer, just a little more—

But it was kinda sad, he really didn't give him a chance.
