"...and yeah, I just think we need to stop hooking up-"

"-Maeve, we literally haven't had sex for, like, over three weeks now." Jackson chuckled.

Maeve shrugged, "I know, but I don't want you to think that we will again." She explained, "It was kinda a stupid thing for us to start doing again anyway. Y'know, considering we used to date."

Jackson nodded, but couldn't help but stare into Maeve's eyes and try to read between the lines of what she was saying.

"That's understandable." He countered, "Are you seeing someone, or something?"

Maeve frowned, "The fuck? No, where did you get that from?"

"The only reason you got all weird about us having sex last time was cause of Otis and you liking him." He said simply, "It just seems like this might be the reason why again."

"Yeah, well it's not." She snapped.

He nodded, "That's cool. You gonna go to August and Tuesday's party tonight?"

"Yeah, I'll be there." Maeve said before turning around and grabbing the door handle, "See you later then, Marchetti."

Maeve sighed in frustration as she entered the hallway, making her way to Aimee where the girl was waiting for her by her locker.

"Did you do it?" Aimee asked, before chuckling and shaking her head, "I mean, end things with him. Not it as in sex."

She couldn't help but chuckle in response, "I know what you meant, Aimes" She laughed, "But, yes I ended it with him."

Aimee grinned, "Well, that's good then, babes." She said, "I'm proud of you."

"Yeah, yeah." Maeve mumbled, getting her phone out and typing out a 'good luck' text message to Tuesday who was about to go into her exam.

Aimee and Maeve started their walk towards their classes, Aimee bringing up the topic of the girl Maeve seemed head over heels for these days.

"So, I talked to Tuesday about everything." Aimee stated, earning Maeve's full attention, "First of all, she almost cringed at the idea of being with Ruthie again so at least you don't have to worry about her." She told the girl, "And, secondly, she didn't say she liked you necessarily, however, she became pretty shy and awkward when I asked her about you."

Maeve kind of deflated by the news, "That doesn't really mean anything though."

"Nooo." Aimee whined, "I think it does and I didn't ask her outright because I'm not as close to her as I am you so I just had to beat around the bush. But, I really wouldn't be surprised if she liked you." She explained, "Why don't you try and make a move soon? The party is tonight, it could really be your chance to shine."

Maeve rolled her eyes, "I don't know about that." She said, "What if she turns me down?"

"You're Maeve Wiley." Aimee stated, "Who would turn you down?"

"I think a lot of people," Maeve scoffed, "Don't forget how most of the school still refer to me as 'cock biter'."

Aimee sucked on her teeth, "Maybe you just need some liquid courage."

"Maybe." Maeve sighed, "If you see me tonight and I'm drinking too much please just stop me because I do not want to turn into a sloppy drunk and embarrass myself in front of her."

"Aye aye captain." Aimee saluted, pausing at the cross over where the two would part to go to their different next class.

Maeve chuckled and gave a small wave as she made her way to Biology, meeting Otis at their table and giving him a grin.
