TW: blood and suicide

---

"Shoma, can I come in?"

Dead silence.

Yuzuru could only hear faint echoes of his voice along the dimly-lit corridor.

He laid his hand on the handle, but he hesitated.

Shoma would never lock his door.

But does he want to see him now?

He's so upset with his performance, and he would only be more triggered upon his arrival.

He would hate him.

Yuzuru sighed.

Javi popped him a message saying that Shoma hadn't left the room ever since returning to the hotel, not even going downstairs for dinner.

And that sent him running all the way down the stairs to here, worrying about his little boyfriend.

Suddenly there's a loud thud from within the room.

Yuzuru spring the door open.

And was frozen there by the chills that ran down his spine.

Red.

Bloody red.

The crimson rhododendrons fed by blood were blooming on the white bedsheets.

Shoma was on the floor.

Pale, unconscious.

Covered in blood.

A handle of a blade sticking out from his chest.

The smell of blood.

The sharp colours of red.

They pained him.

They banged on every inch of his nerves.

"Shoma!" he shook the lifeless body on the floor frantically, only resulting in a thin line of blood trickling from between Shoma's lips.

He slumped to the door, sitting into the pool of sticky blood.

"Hey, Shoma." he laid a hand on his cheeks, now cold under his touch.

He tried to listen for Shoma's heartbeat, or breathing.

None. Nothing.

Only deadly silence surrounding them.

"Shoma...why?"

He saw a little piece of paper sticking out from Shoma's hand.

"Yuzuru, I'm sorry. I'm too tired."

It's Shoma's handwriting scribbled on there.

Yuzuru took over Shoma's unlocked phone from the nightstand.

He knew Shoma left it there with reason.

Maybe it's just the reason why...

It's his Instagram.

He scrolled down.

Post after post. Comment after comment.

It's all the hate he received.

All the hate from comparing him to Yuzuru.

All the disappointment of being disregarded.

That drove him to desperation and suicide.

Today's competition was only the last straw.

Why haven't he noticed it? Yuzuru asked himself.

He saw those little scars on Shoma's wrist, and the cuts on those feet.

He's not a good boyfriend.

Then maybe...

With trembling hands, Yuzuru removed the blade from Shoma's chest.

And stabbed it into his own chest.

Crimson rhododendrons took over the whole room at their full bloom.

With the most saturated red.

A sign of danger.

And in the middle of them, Yuzuru slowly hugged Shoma's body tight.

If I can't say sorry to you on earth...

Then I'll look for you in the afterworld.

No matter at hell or heaven.

It's my fault.

I'm sorry.

A clear tear slowly mixed with the thickening blood, but quickly blended in.

Like how the two lives silently melted into thin air, and vanish from everyone's sight.
