Years flew by, A couple of days before graduation from Cadet training.

To celebrate everyone's hard work. Shades said 'everyone can get some free time' meaning go take a visit into town but we have to be back by night. You asked Armin if he wants to tag along. But he paused and said he was gonna go to the library. You were walking around your town, looking for your home to visit your parents. You were nervous. What if they're still mad at me for my choice. Will they recognize me? what if something big happened that I didn't know about? Your brain was everywhere, you were a paranoid mess.

You stumbled upon your old home, "This the place." You knocked on the door. Moments past. The sudden unlock from the door startled you. The door opened, you found your mom almost sobbing in joy.
"Oh, my-" your mother said with tears in her eyes.
You gave them a warm smile. "We've missed you so much, (Y\N)." Your father said walking behind your mothers. You hugged them to celebrate your return.
"I figured I've come and visit, we have a day off."
Well thank you, for keeping us in mind", your father said.
"So, tell us everything." Your mom said while greeting you to come inside.

After a lovely visit, you had to head back to the Training area. You kissed them on the cheek followed by a hug.
"Please be safe, (Y\N)." Your mother said as she closed the door. You were off again. You suddenly remembered Armin was at the library, you want to join him. You looked at the sky, estimating the time. It was roughly midday. Plenty of time, You decided to give Armin a visit as well.

You were walking to the library, With only your thoughts to think about. You opened the thick wooden door, followed by the cold air inside. You tried looking for him in the chairs. Nothing. Then a blond-haired boy caught your eye, you were positive it was him. You walked over. "Hey, Armin I-" You found him peacefully asleep, with a book in his chest. You chuckled at the sight that it filled your heart. You leaned over and tapped the top of his head with your pointer finger. "Earth to Armin? Are you there?"
He jumped awake, looked up to see you "o-oh hey,(Y\N)" he said while rubbing his eyes. You sat down beside him. "What's up with you sleeping? I'm always the one to find you?" You said while chuckling.
"It's funny you said that, I didn't get much sleep last night." He replied.
"Well, Whys that?"
"I've been th-thinking about, someone," Armin said while resting his head on his palm.
"Who is this 'someone?" (Y\N) asked
"D-don't w-worry abo-ut it." He said while trying to conceal his deep crimson face.
"Oh, w-well ok then." You blushed as well. Silence filled the room. "Oh, do you want to grab some lunch? I haven't eaten since breakfast." He asked you. "Sure." Both exchanged smiled at each other.

"So, what do you want?" He asked you.
"Sandwiches, maybe?"
"Good choice!"
You followed beside him until you reached the sandwich market, it was always busy at this time. You stayed close to him. You wanted to ask if you could hold his hand. But you didn't want to make it weird. The busier it got, the more you had moved behind him. He stopped walking and turned to you.
"(Y\N), would you like to hold my hand?. I'd hate it if you got lost." Armin said while opening his hand to you,
"Y-y-yeah, please." You felt your face turn hot and your heart fluttered. Calm down (Y\N). You slowly moved next to him. Minutes flew by, you and Armin were at the sandwich stand. who was owned by a friendly couple.
"Hello, what would you like dears?" Asked the lady.

You gave the lady what you wanted on your sandwich. And Armin gave the man what he wanted on his. You realized you didn't have any money on you. And you didn't think Armin doesn't have any either. When both sandwiches were done, the lady said, "don't worry, they're on us. And thank you for your service." You smiled at them and did the salute, so did Armin.

Armin grabbed the sandwiches and your hand. This time, it only made your heart flutter even more. They both sat and ate their food at a nearby tree. It was quiet and peaceful. After the food was finished.
Moments of silence entered. Armin broke it. Followed by a calm soft breeze flowed through the air. Armin looked at the blue sky and said,

"(Y\N), Remember when we were kids, dreaming about the outside world, seeing the sea and being in romances with our special ones. And when you, Mikasa and Eren would come over and play pretend. I miss those fun times. To be honest, I'm very delighted I met you in the first place,"

Armin turned to face you, making eye contact.

"And, you were always the first one to help me if I fall, if I'm crying, training, even if I need information and you even help if I need a hug. You're a soulmate to me, I don't know what I would do if I haven't met you. I mean, I know I have Eren and Mikasa, but you're different in amazing ways (Y\N). You always know what to do for me, And what I'm trying to say is. Thank you for being there for me, (Y\N)."

The entire time, you looked into his blue-filed eyes.
You felt tears suddenly swim in your eyes. "(Y\N), your crying. I'm sorry was it-" in a blink of an eye, Armin felt (Y\N)s arms wrapped around him, you buried your head on his shoulder. Armin hugged back, stroking your (H\C) Hair. You both let go of the hug, you wiped away your tears,
"I'm fine, that was beautiful Armin, and I've never heard anyone say that to me before, and I feel the same way for you too. Armin, you're a soulmate to me. Words can't describe how grateful I met you. The time Mikasa told me about you, I felt so stuck. And now I finally met you and I never felt so happy in my existence. "
A moment of silence filled the moment. "I know it's not the right time, but we should head back."
You looked at the time and it was almost sunset.
"Yeah, we should," you said as Armin helped you up.
