"Hi," Lola replied dropping the book in her hand on the table in front of the couch.
"Are you free?" She asked as she stepped further into the room.
Lola nodded. "I'm not doing anything. Just reading and occasionally chatting."
Helen smiled. "That's good then. I was thinking we should go for a stroll. There is this place that my hubby took me to yesterday and I think you will love to check it out."
"That sounds nice. I'm already bored out of my mind sitting in here." Lola said and she went over to carry her travel bag that contain the clothes she brought. She didn't bother arranging them in the wardrobe. "Let me check for something to wear."
Helen nodded and she sat at the edge of the bed as she watch Lola search for cloth to wear. Then her eyes caught a yellow dress. Yellow had always been her favourite colour and she was curious to know what the cloth looked like, so she pulled it out from underneath the other folded clothes.
It was a gown. A flay gown that has a fitted upper bodice and an irregular pointed edge at the end. Some parts are shorter and the pointed edges are long. It has a spaghetti sleeve ending with a cross back.
"Whoa! I love this gown. It's a nice beach dress. This is one of those perfect dresses to wear for toning under the sun. You should wear this." Helen suggested.
"It is beautiful. I love the colour but it's a bit exposing." Lola told her looking at the gown in Helen's hands.
"It doesn't matter. No one is looking at you here. No one is a stranger here., This is a private beach area."
"It still feels strange."
"Don't be ridiculous. It will look good on you. Look at me." She gestures to her body. She is wearing a free A-shaped gown with no sleeves.
"It is not revealing your back and part of your cleavage."
"But it is short. I have to wear worst. You know that right?" Helen asked and she replied with a nod. She was actually right. She had worn something more exposing than that. But she is married and her husband is okay with it.
"Stop thinking. Wear it. It will look good on you. Didn't you get it so you could wear it? I'm sure Demmy will love it on you."
Lola just chuckled at that. "His mom actually bought it for me when she went shopping for the vacation."
"Awesome. Mommy has good taste then." Helen said with a smirk.
Lola shrugged. Although she don't have anything to prove it but she was sure that Mrs Jolaoluwa didn't buy the clothes. She knew Demilade did.
She took the cloth from Helen after she returned her big travel bag to its position and she change out of her current clothes.
While she was changing, Helen asked.
"Do you mind if I ask something?" Helen asked Lola.
"No." She shakes her head.
"Do you and Demilade quarrel? You're both acting strange."
Lola paused what she was doing and she turned to her. Demilade attitude was becoming obvious. And for her to ask, it only means she doesn't know about the deal. She was a bit relieved that Bayo hadn't told his wife about her contract relationship with his best friend. Because she doesn't know her so well and she doesn't know what she will think of her.
"Yes. And Demilade can be a bit stubborn when he is angry." She lied.
"Oh! You should both talk it out. Try to cuddle him, say sweet words to him... Something... Anything. I don't like that you are always by yourself. He is either alone or with my husband. He should spend more time with you. That is the purpose of this vacation."
Lola just shrugged."I'm trying. He is partly at fault too." It's a bit strange having such a conversation with Helen but she had learnt that she is a therapist and that side of her becomes dominant sometimes.
"I'm sure he is but it wouldn't be fixed if one of you do not make a move to amend the problem. Maybe after kissing or... Sex."
There is a way she said the word that made Lola chuckles. Even Helen joined her. She was trying not to make it seems like a counselling session but like a friend-to-friend conversation
"I'm serious. That is actually how I and Bayo solve our problem. If I am wrong. I know when he will be calm and that is mostly after he kisses me or we make love. He is always calm then and I use my female charm to apologize and settle things and then we can go for another round." They both burst into laughter. "That's the truth, Lola," Helen said when their laughter had died down. She was smiling.
"That hadn't happened in a while."
"Geez!" Helen exclaimed, sucking in her lips. "Well, I guess males are different. Bayo can be horny whether he is angry or not." She said, chuckling.
"Demilade is quite a character. But I hope we settle our differences. I will keep trying." Lola said trying to end the conversation.
"Okay. Are you ready?" Helen asked.
"Let me get my sandal." And she stood up.
