- you didn't tell your parents that you were practicing for your driver's license
- you would tell them your going to your friend's house
- which wasn't entirely a lie
- you would go to your friends house
- and they would let you practice in their car
- you were suprised that they trusted you to use their car
- but you were even more surprised that you didn't crash it
- you decided to tell your parents that you wanted to take your driving test
- you walked over to where your parents were sitting in the trailer kitchen
- you hated the trailer
- but your dad liked it, so of course you and your mom put up with it
- "hey guys, can i ask you something?" you approached your parents
- "of course my love." your mom would kiss the top of your head
- "ok um, can i get my driver's license?" you would ask
- your parents eyed each other before going back to sipping their coffee
- "what? did i miss something? did i do something wrong?" you would ask your parents, genuinely confused
- "no honey, of course not." your mom rubbed your shoulder
- "then what?" you would be a little annoyed
- "it's just that, we don't think you're quite ready yet. that's all." your dad shrugged as he took another sip of his coffee
- "oh come on! just take me on a few drives in your car dad! i can do it." you told your parents
- after a few moments of silence, your parents finally agreed
- for the next week they were taking turns teaching you in each of their cars
- first you would practice with your dad
- "ok, that was good but you forgot to turn on your blinker a few times." your dad would tell you
- it was more stressful with your dad
- "y/n i told you that there was a stop light up there!" "sorry, i didn't see it! don't blow up over there."
- however with your mom it was practically a break from life
- you two would drive for a bit, then stop at a starbucks
