Since people keep asking me why I am a vegetarian and get offended when I try to explain why I am and why I find the idea of living as a vegan good, I decided to write a blog post about this topic.
I hear way too often provocative questions like: "How's that fake vegan meat?" Sometimes I would like to answer: "How's that high blood pressure medication?" But I do not because it is rude to make comments about other people's lives, isn't it? I really do not understand it. How can people smoke cigarettes and then suddenly tell you that eating vegan stuff is unhealthy? Meat and cigarettes are both classified as a number 1 cancer causing substance a long time ago.
However, why do so many people try to find loopholes and flaws with veganism? Why are you trying to poke holes in something that has a sole intention of reducing suffering and being kind to others and the planet? I think people should be more impressed than upset about vegans saving 30 animal's lives, 620 Ibs of harmful CO₂ emissions, 33 000 gallons of water, 913 sq ft of forest and a whole lot of a heart disease every month.
Why shouldn't we stop supporting Seaworld, eating animals, boiling animals alive, killing them for trophies, hunting, eating eggs, drinking calf milk, wearing animals, supporting circuses, testing on animals and pretending plants feel pain. We're not asking Inuit and other indigenous communities to care about animal's rights and stop hunting for food. We ask you, who has the opportunity to buy something else in a supermarket full of foods.
And now follow me before I die of nutrient deficiency.
