Day one (kinda)

Hey. I don't really know why I'm writing this.. but uh... hello? I shouldn't say "how are you" because I don't think you would really have an answer, but I'll ask anyways. How are you? How's your career? Last I heard it was going well, but that was a few years ago. I can only imagine that it's gotten better from there, you always were good at what you set your mind to. I'm kinda confused right now, because since I woke up a couple of days ago, there hasn't been a single noise from outside. There hasn't been a hum of a car driving across the freeway right outside my apartment, there hasn't been the chatter from friends heading over to the coffee shop across the street, there hasn't been a bird chirp or a dog bark, and there hasn't been a worried or angry nock on my door asking if "I'm okay" or if "I have payed my bills yet." This started two days ago, like I said. The first day I didn't pay much mind to it. I figured either it was just an especially quiet day or I accidentally shut the whole world out of my mind like I occasionally do, but by the second day I got more curious. I checked my phone and laptop to see if there was an emergency evacuation or something I didn't know about, but nothing showed up. And I mean nothing. Social media, which I rarely check anyways, had seemed to come to a complete stop, like everyone in the world decided to just stop posting for a couple of days. I had no new texts or calls which isn't that surprising because everyone's already given up on trying to contact me since I never answer, but there weren't even any of the spam or scam calls that I always get. Do you remember how bad those were in high school? My phone would always go off all the time in practice to the point where I just had to keep it on silent, and you'd always make me go check it just in case it was someone important but I knew it wasn't. No one important called me. You always preferred texting.
