“So you know what I do for a living, what do you do?” she asked.
“I’m the editor of a small lifestyles magazine.” He knew this was a bit of an understatement. Simple Submission was one of the most prominent BDSM publications inAmericabut he didn’t want to share that just yet.
“Oh wow, awesome! I’ve never been one for editing I just spew the words onto a page and hope it comes out okay.” She said shifting in his lap to look at him. “I’ve been published as a ghost writer a couple of times. That’s it though, hence, working at The Grind.”
“Nothing wrong with that,” he said simply.
“So since I am good friends with the editor, any chance of getting an article in your magazine?” She grinned, never one to pass up an opportunity.
When he laughed, she pouted. “Oh, don’t look at me like that Aubrey. I’m sure your writing is wonderful. I am just not sure that you could write the kind of articles we are looking for at the moment.”
“I’ll have you know, I can write about anything.”
“Tell you what, later, I’m not saying exactly when, I will bring you a copy of my magazine and you let me know if you still want to write that article.”
“You’re on!” She smiled smugly to herself knowing that she would have it in the bag once she had a topic.
When dessert arrived, he kissed her lightly on the forehead. It was a simple piece of cheesecake topped with chocolate mousse and large skillfully made curls of dark chocolate.
She almost began to drool at the sight of it. Cheesecake and chocolate, her two greatest loves on one plate.
“I wish you would look at me like that,” he chuckled and she blushed.
“Sorry,” she shrugged “but me and the contents of that plate go way back, I will always love them more than anyone or anything,” she grinned but waited for him to take the first bite as had been the going theme of the meal.
“I don’t think I like the idea of you loving something more than me.”
He smirked and took the fork cutting the delectable morsel on the plate and stuffed more than two thirds into his mouth.
“What are you thinking? You have to savor it, and you took way more than your fair share,” she growled at him, literally.
He continued to grin barely able to chew his mouth was so full. “I reery gmd,” he said through the huge mouthful of cream and chocolate she could only assume he was trying to say “it’s really good.”
She couldn’t help but laugh at his goofy expression even though she was still mad that he ate most of the cake. “Don’t talk with your mouth full you could choke.”
At that moment, he began to cough and sputter a bit. Aubrey’s eyes widened in panic and she sat up quickly placing her hands on either side of his face. “Oh my god!”
He grinned as he swallowed the rest of the bite, showing chocolaty teeth.
Aubrey glared and smacked his chest. “You jerk! I thought you were dying!” She pulled back for another blow but he deftly caught her wrist.
“Forgive me Aubrey I didn’t mean to scare you, but that look on your face was priceless.”
She sighed, “You are evil.”
“Oh, you have no idea.” He grinned wickedly before settling her back into position on his lap and bringing a forkful of cheesecake to her lips.
