𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: This story is best comparable to the films The Turning (2020) and Dead Poets Society (1989).
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: Listen. I went into this book with very little hope. The plot was intriguing but I was in the middle of a big reading slump and imagined myself dropping it a few chapters in. I literally could not put this book down. The characters were diverse without it feeling forced. The author really encapsulated how it feels to be a young girl AND a burnt-out gifted kid all at once. I really found myself in these characters. The twists were original and interesting. One of my favorite young adult novels by far.
