Hello! I'm TinyPinkFrog or just Frog or Author! This first "Chapter" is basically explaining names, places, and terms. I got this AU idea from a weird dream I had, so I'm sorry I'm advance if anything is confusing. Most artwork in this will be mine and if if isn't it will be credited to the artist. Reminder! This is an AU and character personalities may not be as cannon as they were in the game. __________________________________________________________________________
A long time ago, around 226 years I'd say, a large war broke out between all the countries of the world. During this time, a group of evil minded scientists took 50-70 pregnant people, killed their partners, and hid them away in an abandoned jail underground. Every day they were injected with animal DNA since the scientists wanted to give humans animal abilities ,like a dog's smell, hawk's eyesight, and a frog's ability to regenerate a few nonessential organs. Over Half of the adults died during experiments either from lack of hygiene or because of stress. Out of this experiment 18 babies had been born with monster like powers. The scientists killed all the remaining adults and continued to study these "powers." Through research they had learnt the children could transform into a werewolf like state with the animal's DNA that was most dominant in their cells. After twelve years of raising these children like testing rats the police finally found and captured all of the scientists. Of course, to this day people still don't know if the scientists escaped or not. All children were sent out to the same orphanage and while there they all decided on the following rules: they no longer could call themselves humans so they decided on the name "animalis misce" but it's just misce for short, they could not show their monstrous form to any humans(they made this one mainly out of fear of being captured again), loving a human was also forbidden due to the second rule being broken more easily if it did happen. Throughout the generations many new misce species have popped up and the secret of our existence have also been kept a secret. Today around 7,776 misce live on this giant rock floating in space we call home.

There are 4 different countries in our world.
The first(and the smallest) one is Insula Avem or the "island of birds," well, I guess a better name for it would be "island of flight." On this island live some of the most talented and knowledgeable people of all time. From engineers, scientists, and mathematicians to musicians, doctors, and lawyers they all can be found on this small island. They are by far the most advanced considering the fact they don't even need cars anymore and just maneuver from giant gusts of wind and technological wings hence the name. So, I guess the name finally does fit.
The second country is Texturbi Ferro the "city of steel." Even though it's not a city anymore they still kept the name after they fought for independence against The Kingdom of Ruby but, I'll get into that later. Ironically the "city of steel" isn't a name to show how tough the country is; actually it's quite the opposite. The meaning behind the name is what people originally came there for, to make steel and ship it off to other countries for double of what it cost them. But all the main mines were emptied eventually so people began to scatter and look for more mines that could supply them, along the way many stopped and began to live here.
The third country is the Kingdom of Ruby. It doesn't really have a hidden meaning or fancy name but despite that this country is to be taken seriously. This country has some of the most powerful and evil people you'll even meet. On top of that, this country has made the most weapons and started the most wars just for the sake of boredom.
The fourth country is iaculo linguae or "Spear of the tongue." It is rumored that an ancient presence spoke from a "book of creation" and created the people and the island itself. Many great poets, literature writers, and performers have come from here. People mainly visit for the many festivals that occur throughout the year.
The fifth and final country is Hireath. The name used to have meaning but that got lost in translation when the country was forced to use and learn a new one after losing past wars. The land is know for being free. "A poor man enters and a rich one leaves" is one of the many famous quotes used to describe Hireath. All people are welcome and can live freely. They have the richest land for farming which has given them multiple trades and treaties amongst the other countries.
The life of a misce is just as normal as a human one. We go to school, pay bills, and suffer with emotions. So we really aren't that different from everyone else.
