"I NEED U" was the lead single for The Most Beautiful Moment In Life Pt.1and also brought in a more pop sound for BTS. The members explained that it's about trying to hold on to love that is about to end and the anxiety that comes along with that.
"DOPE" was the group's first music video to surpass 100 million views on YouTube and got a lot of international attention as well. The song also touches on how young people struggle to succeed with the expectations placed on them.
Suga also explained in one of his unboxing videos that he was able to write his lyrics very quickly thanks to having fun working with the beat of the song.
