Olives pov
I walked up to a guard, as if I had a question.
"Hey do yo-" I started, and you could see him let his guard done. Isnt that ironic, a guard letting his guard down. I pause before saying the rest of my sentence. I point behind him and ask, "Do you know what that means?"
He turns around and I grab the point in his shoulder. He slowly slumps to the floor and I open the door behind him. I start running. I know Bruce is watching though. He's always watching.
I try to stick in large groups so Im not easy to identify as I make my way to the address. I turn corners and cross streets, all by foot. I dont want anybody to follow me, such as a cab driver. It doesnt help that those things smell like dead bodies.
The crowds start diminishing as I reach the less populated, run down, places. I resort to putting up my hood and putting my hands in my pockets. I walk with my head hanging but I never stop. I dont care how much my calves burn, I am determined to get there. It must show through my eyes, the burning passion, because if I make eye contact with anyone, they look a little afraid. They must think Im a murderer.
That didnt matter now though. The signs of people had started disappearing until it had completely vanished. I must have been walking/running for at least an hour and a half but it only seemed like seconds. I had finally arrived though and am sizing up the building from a distance.I stood in the bushes 4 houses down from the large building that had boarded windows and crumbling bricks. That was It?
Although I know that Bruce does like taking run down neighborhoods and turning them into his sound barrier. In his mind, if nobody can hear you scream, then you arent really screaming. Its pretty smart, but any idiot could think of it. What really determines if he's smart or not is what trap he sets up. I have no idea what to expect, so its really hopeless to try and plan.
Oh my god, what am I doing here?! Im not even really armed! I only have two knives, one being a Swiss army knife, and a hand gun (dont ask why I had them at school). Gosh, I should have brought gas bombs, extra mags, a actually damaging gun, anything really! I spot a rusty wrench in the corner of my eye and pick it up. This could help I guess... Shit, Im screwed.
A black SUV drives past me, scaring the shit out of me. Luckily I got down quick enough, so whoever was in it didnt see me. The SUV parks in front of the building and the driver gets out. He was a tall, built guy who looked like he meant business. He goes around to the back and opens the trunk. In the back was a person curled up into a ball. I hop over the bushes and go to the next house to get a better look. I peek around the side of a shed and watch as the guy pulls out the person, who was now awake and struggling.
I get on my stomach and army crawl to the next set of bushes to get a better look. The person, the guys, haircut, red pants, and white jacket were familiar. Actually they were instantly recognizable, it was Louis. Ok, screw this plan crap, Im running. I run as fast as I can, hopping over bushes, fences and other crap as Louis and the dude disappear into the building. I go crashing into the door, not even thinking.
The walls were solid white, kinda like an insane asylum without the padding and straight jacket. The door behind me slams shut and I here gears lock it in place. Well, theres no going back that way. There was a door at the other end of the room with a number pad next to it. There was no smashing through that door.
The room was empty except for a camera in the corner and a flat screen tv on the wall adjacent to the metal door. I walk up to the flat screen and it switches on. On it is Bruce, of course.
He just smiles and waves, not saying a word. I raise an eyebrow, getting a bad feeling in my stomach. He takes a step back from the camera and gets out of the view. The camera focuses and I see them, tied to chairs and gagged. My hand goes to my mouth and my eyes go wide.
