“Fine.” He sighed and there was a burst of energy in the room. We all jumped on our feet, Sohail distributing aprons for safety. If it was left up to him, we would make us wear radioactive suits every single day.

“What are we gonna cook?” Malaika asked, checking the cabinets and fridge for the ingredients available.

“Risotto?” Salman asked and we all nodded without a second thought. We all got to work, getting out some rice and setting the oven temperatures. I got the speakers and plugged in my phone so we could cook in peace and with the flow of music.

“Do me a favor?” Salman tapped me on the shoulder as I hummed along to Nicki Minaj, “Chop the mushrooms?”

“Sure.” I grabbed the chopping board and knife, and began cutting the mushrooms in thin slices. Malaika was taking care of the small things, like setting out the dishes while Salman did most of the work. Sohail and Sam were just loitering around, eating the extra piece of veggie or handing out some spoon to someone. Arbaaz and Arhaan were outside, because he wanted to see our house from outside just one last time. The decorations made it look enchanting, even I had to admit that the décor team had done a great job. Normally I would insist on doing it on my own, but this year I didn’t have the time to decorate the entire house.

I felt a pair of hands cover my eyes, and by instinct I turned around to defend myself.

“Whoa.” A familiar voice exclaimed besides me, and I dropped the knife in my hand.

“Holy crap.” I blinked in disbelief, staring into the charming green eyes. Adrian.

“And I don’t call her magnet for danger for no reason.” Salman picked up the knife and ruffled my hair. I gawked at Adrian and he smiled at me, coming closer. I looked up into his eyes, shining as he got my hand.

“You’re here.” I whispered and he nodded. Hugging him, I still couldn’t believe he was really here right now. My boyfriend travelled half the world on Christmas, came all the way to Middle East to meet me.

“How could I not be?” he tucked a strand of my hair behind my hair, and I grinned like an idiot.

“Yeah, ok, we get the point. Now away from each other.” Sohail crept in his hand between us two and I pouted at him. He just had to spoil a perfect moment for both of us. Adrian didn’t bother to argue back, he knew well that it was best that he kept quite in front of my brothers. He just stepped back, and I saw his sister and father come inside, dragging their luggage behind them.

“Rosalie!” I grinned seeing her here too. I swear the girl had some real talent- thank Goodness she wasn’t up for the Olympics until next cycle.

“Alisha. Oh God do I love your videos or what?” she came running towards me, giving me a side hug. Some of the videos from the other days had been uploaded to my debut website, and though I hadn’t checked the responses yet people told me they were beyond my imagination. Apparently, I had slapped my critics right on their freaking faces.

“Thanks!” I replied, smiling at Adrian’s dad.

“Merry Christmas honey.” He hugged me and I hugged him right back.

“Same to you. I can’t believe you are really here.” I wasn’t really successful in hiding my excitement, and made everyone chuckle at my high-pitched voice.

“Christmas means family- which means people closest to us. Which includes him.” Arbaaz came in, giving everyone a warm smile and greeting the guests. He had been the most supportive of all out of all my three brothers, simply because he understood how much Adrian meant to me.
