I remember being normal. It was a long time ago, back before I became a mother, a mate, a Beta, a wolf. To be honest, my life would be so boring with any of those things those. Normal, tck, I'd rather be dead.
"Momma," Leigh Ann pulled on my pants as I look over pack files. "Up."
I pull my two year old into my arms and held her close. "Where are your brothers?"
"With daddy."
I roll my chair over to the window and Lee laughs as I do so. Outside I see my two five-year-old boys and husband kicking a ball around.
"Momma?"
"Yes baby girl."
"Story?"
I kiss her forehead, "Which story?"
"Love story?"
"Okay," I answer and she cuddles into my chest. "Once upon a time there was a girl who assumed her life was normal. She thought that she would go to school, get a job, pay bills, and maybe... maybe fall in love."
"Then wolf."
"And then she got a wolf, a fierce blonde wolf for the brown haired beauty. And that wolf started a series of unnatural events. She met a boy in the most horrible way possible. But she knew as soon as she saw him that they were ment to be."
"Mates!"
"That's right," I tickle her stomach. "They were mates. And the brown haired beauty had to learn that love is the most not normal thing there is."
