Chapter 54: A Sisterly Bond

Ash, Kevin, their Pikachus, Mega Sceptile, Casper, and Latias all froze on the spot upon seeing a torrent of water surround Cindy and Grace's entire bodies. Greninja and Kong popped out of their Pokeballs, eyes wide in shock. Gary, Hau, Delia, and Yellow abruptly stood up from their seats, utterly surprised too.

"No..." Ash trailed off.

"Arceus..." Delia continued.

"Damn..." Yellow went on.

"Way!" Kevin finished.

"What?! How?!" Gary shouted, in total disbelief.

"...OK, you have GOT to be kidding me right now! Her too?!" Hau exclaimed, completely flabbergasted. Brendan, Snow, and Spark just inwardly smirked at their reactions, as well as the confusion on Iris, Deino, Rosa, and N's faces.

"Um, would someone like to tell us what the heck is going on with Cindy and Primarina?!" the Team Neo Plasma leader inquired. The brothers, Greninja, and Kong all glanced towards him.

Ash and Kevin could only utter two words: "Bond Phenomenon..." Iris, Deino, Rosa, and N quirked an eye.

"Bond Phenomenon? What is that?" the Dragon Master in training questioned everyone else curiously. Delia, Yellow, Hau, and Gary hesitated for a few seconds before sighing.

"Iris, N, as friends of Ash's, can we trust you two and Rosa to keep a secret? Since you're seeing one for the first time, you do deserve an explanation. But you must NEVER tell anyone who doesn't know about this. We don't want a Bond Phenomenon falling in the wrong hands now, do we?" the half Titan replied sternly. Iris, Deino, Rosa, and N all stared at each other for a brief moment. They nodded and turned back to the others.

"We promise not to tell." Rosa stated with a kind smile. Iris suddenly had a brain wave.

"Hold on. Does that mean Ash can do this?" she asked. Gary couldn't help but smirk a little.

"Yeah. But it's not just Ash. Kevin and Calem can too." he answered.

"So can Jason." Hau added. Delia and Yellow quirked an eye.

"Wait, you're saying Kevin and Calem can do that too? I knew Ash and Jason could, but I didn't know about those two." Yellow said.

Gary nodded while saying, "Yeah, I've seen Ash, Kevin, and Calem's Bond Phenomenons in action. They are crazy strong!"

"Really? How strong are we talking here?" Iris inquired. Gary's smirk only grew.

"Strong enough to knock out a Mythical Pokemon in three moves." he replied smugly.

"And strong enough to hold Jason back from Serena. Though, he and Phoenix weren't battling at full strength back then." Hau added, mumbling the last sentence to himself. Iris, Deino, and Rosa's jaws dropped while N rose an eyebrow.

"Just how strong is Jason anyway?" he asked. Hau couldn't help but smirk a little bit.

"All I can say is, he wasn't called The Last Titan for nothing. Anyway, a Bond Phenomenon, or, as it is commonly called, Battle Bond, is actually a very rare ability among starter Pokemon. Though, I have heard rumors of a Lucario having such an ability too. Which technically makes sense, as a strong aura connection between a trainer and their Pokemon is needed to actually activate the ability. And what does Lucario specialize in? Aura. That's why Battle Bond users commonly have them on their teams too. To better train their aura, since it can be pretty taxing on the trainer." he answered. Delia and Yellow glanced towards each other with worry evident on their faces while everyone else besides Gary looked very intrigued. Though, N was looking quite worried too upon hearing how taxing the ability can be on the trainer.
