He opens the door.

"Room service!"

I look at the clock. Oh. Right. The woman looks at his mask with a smile on her face. "Good morning, here's your breakfast. I didn't know there were two people in here, my mistake, I will go back to the kitchen and get you a second breakfast menu"

"No, that's alright. I'm not hungry anyway"

"Very well. Have a wonderful day"

Michael closes the door and digs into the food. Pancakes and blueberry muffins. This hotel is fancy as hell . . I didn't even order breakfast, I guess it's all inclusive. I check my inbox and reply to some emails. Michael is sitting by the window looking outside. I wonder what's going through his mind right now.

I put my laptop away and walk over to him. "Aren't you scared?" I ask, putting my hand on his shoulder. He looks at me smiling. "I'm not scared . . far from it . . but I'd be lying if I said I felt carelessly happy. Two police cars just stopped right in front of the hotel . . do I have to be nervous?" He asks with a uneasy look on his face. A few moments later we hear a loud knock on the door.

"This is the police, please open the door, immediately!!"

Oh shit.

We fucked up.

The look on Michael's face changes. "They're here for me, aren't they? they're looking for me! Bill sent them, I could bet on it!"

"I guess so . . HIDE!"

"Where?!" He asks, looking around nervously.

"Hide under the bed, hurry, Michael!"

I open the windows, quickly make the bed and slowly step in front of the door. I swallow nervously but this is too much of a stressfull situation to think about what to say. I will just have to go with it. Not opening the door will only make me look more suspicious. I run my hands through my hair and open the door.

"Yes, please?"

"We have a search warrant. May we have a look around your hotel room?"

"A search warrant? Why?"

The two police men bust into the room and look around. "We're looking for a person . . are you alone here?"

"I am very much so very alone here, do you see anyone else?"

They look in the bathroom, the balcony, the kitchen area . . but find nothing. One of the police men walks up to the bed and stops for a moment. Please don't look under that bed, please don't look under it. My heart starts racing . . I see my life flashing before my eyes. He gets down on one knee and looks under it.

It's over.

This is it.

Now Bill will find out that Michael came with me and he will make sure I will never see him again. To my surprise the police man gets back up and turns to his colleague. "I think there's no one here" He says. They exchange a few words and then leave the hotelroom. "Goodbye ma'am"

Hold on the world for a moment. Why didn't he see Michael under the bed?! I quickly get down on the floor and look under the bed. He's gone. Where the hell did Michael go?! I close the door and look around the hotel room. Michael is nowhere to be found.

Am I losing my mind?

Where did he go?

The window is open . . did he leave by himself?

Did Bill really call the cops on me? This man has issues. I can't believe he would go to such lengths to prove his point. I get that his job is to protect Michael but he's protecting him from the wrong people. I see Michael genuinely smiling now. I'm not saying I'm the reason for it but me opening up to him and confessing my feelings to him sure make him feel some type of way. Be safe Michael. Wherever you went . .  and don't take your mask off.
