You were walking back to the House of Lamentation from RAD. You had failed the last Devildom history test, so you asked the teacher for help. It took way longer than expected, but Lucifer finally allowed you to walk around town without an escort, so you didn't need to call one of the brothers to get you.

The only condition was that it needed to be light outside. Was it light out? Not entirely. The entity in the sky that brought light during the day (but not the sun??) was most of the way covered by the horizon. But you could make it back in time.

Having just left the school, you had music playing in your earphones as you walked down the side of the road. You were paying attention but not really looking around. You felt yourself step into a puddle and you looked down. It wasn't a rain puddle.

You stood still, mid-walk, in a pool of blood. Your eyes slowly followed the flow of blood upstream into an alley. It was lit by a single lamppost, and directly under it was a body. The limbs had been torn off, lying off to the side. The torso was mutilated beyond recognition. Blood was still freely flowing out of the many wounds, bright red. The head wasn't anywhere in sight. Not that you really went to check.

You let out a scream and ran back the way you came. Tears fell down your face, blocking your vision. You ran as fast as you could. Demons moved out the way of the crying human, much to your relief. After a good amount of running, you ended up at the gate surrounding RAD's Fangol field. Your single scream left your throat sore, and the tearstains on your face had dried and now had dirt stuck in them.

You looked at the field and saw Beelzebub and the rest of his team playing. You looked around, trying to find the gate to get in. You found it and bolted through it. By the time you got to the field they were at, all of them were talking on the side-lines. Beel sensed you coming and turned around.

You came to a stop in front of him and tried to tell him what happened, but between the running and your crying, your lungs took control over your body and all you could do was breathe and cry some more. Beel wrapped his muscled arms around you. You tried to explain the situation again, but you choked on your tears. "Shh, you can tell me later, just calm down a little." He started rubbing small circles on your neck to try and calm you down. You forgot about the other demons around until one of them spoke up. "Hey, Beel, who's that?" You didn't look up to see who it was, but Beel answered him. "Can you guys pick up without me today?"

He moved to pick you up and you let him carry you. Your arms were wrapped around his neck and your legs around his waist. He walked you over to the far end of the bleachers, away from the other demons, and put you down. "Look at me for a sec." You looked into his worried eyes, but your eyes closed again when another fit of sobs escaped you. "Can you take deep breaths with me?" You tried to breathe in time with his words. "In... and out... that's it" You finally started to calm down. "The *hick* alley... it was *sniff* blood..." You managed to get the point across and Beel gave you a big bear hug. "I'm sorry you had to see that Y/N. Let's get you back to the house."

When you got back, he put you on your bed. He took off your blood-stained shoes and ran you a bath. "How about you take a bath while I get you some food? That will make you feel better. I'll even try not to eat it all before I get back." You laughed at his joke and he smiled in response. The bath was the perfect temperature and Beel had put a piece of candy on the edge of the tub for you to eat.

After a while in the bath, you heard a knock at the door. "I'm back," Beel said softly. You got out and put on the pyjamas he had left on the counter. They were your favourite. You walked out of the bathroom and Beel was sitting on the edge of your bed. He had changed out of his practice gear and into some comfy clothes. The food was on the nightstand, and there was only a bite out of the bread slice. "I couldn't help myself." He looked down shyly. You chuckled and started eating.

Beel told you about how his practice went to try and get your mind off what happened. After you finished, he put the dishes to the side. "Do you wanna tell me what happened?" You had calmed down enough, and the shock had worn off enough for you to tell him exactly what you had seen. He sat in silence as you told him what happened. "And I know this is basically Hell, and that's like, normal, but-" He cut you off by another hug. "It might be normal, but even I don't like it when it happens." You nodded.

After a few more seconds of the hug, you yawned. It had gotten late, and the day you just had was long and eventful. "Do you want to go to sleep?" Beel asked you, his head buried in your shoulder. You hummed in response, and he went to get up. You rolled over and pulled him down to the bed with you. You breathed out a small, "Stay?" He snuggled down under the covers with you and pulled you closer. Your head was tucked under his chin, and your legs were intertwined. "Thank you," you mumbled out before falling asleep to his steady heartbeat.
