Chapter Nine: Now or Never

Talia's Point Of View:

I yawned as I stretched out under the red comforter. I blinked quickly trying to fully open my eyes. I rolled onto my side and stared at an unfamiliar alarm clock that read 12:58.

I sat up looking around unsure of where I was and how I'd gotten here. I reached for my pounding head, wishing I could just close my eyes and fall back to sleep. I was about to lay back down when I heard voices coming from a different room. I held my head as I pulled away the covers and swung my legs over the side of the bed.

I looked down and realized I was only wearing a baggy black Tshirt that didn't belong to me. I panicked and searched the floor for my jeans. As I was crawling around on the ground the bedroom door opened with a slight squeak and I could see unique black high tops step inside the door shutting slowly behind them. I watched hidden on the opposite side of the bed.

I swallowed hard trying not to make a sound. "Talia" My face lit up when I heard Josh's familiar voice whisper my name. I jumped up from beside the bed and ran directly into his arms. "I didn't know where I was! And when i woke up I thought that.. I thought that.." I was on the verge of tears when Josh cut me off. "Shh" He hushed me soothingly as I buried my face in his chest. He wrapped his arms around me tightly "You're okay. Nothing happened. You're at Matt's place, I asked him to take you home last night before I left." he rubbed my back in an attempt to calm me. I looked up at him and he grinned.

"Good afternoon by the way." I felt my cheeks heat up when I remembered the time. "I guess I was tired." I giggled stupidly as I shrugged at Josh. I pulled away from him with my head pounding again. Josh smirked and handed me two little pills. "You had a few too many drinks last night huh?" I rolled my eyes at him and stuck out my tongue.

He looked down at me quizzically before he reached for something on a near by dresser. I couldn't make out exactly what he grabbed before he hid whatever it was behind his back. "Cute panties." He said teasingly. I looked down at my attire. A baggy black T-shirt that didn't quite cover my bottom and my black lace panties. My cheeks became feverishly heated as I looked up at Josh. He smiled from the corner of his mouth and held my jeans in one hand up in the air out of my reach.

I gasped dramatically and jumped up and down in an attempt to get my jeans back. I stepped onto the bed and leaned into him, stretching out my arm as far as I could to reach for the jeans. Josh grinned at me mischievously and he dropped my jeans on the ground.

He stared into my eyes, his bright blue eyes putting me under his spell. Wrapping his arms around my bare thighs he lifted me off the bed, not breaking eye contact. He gently placed me on the floor in front of him. I goofily smiled up at him hypnotized by his seducing charm. The little distance between us disappeared as he moved his rough hands from my thighs up over my lace panties to my waist, slightly lifting the baggy shirt as he pulled me in.

My heart began beating hard against the inside of my chest. My palms became moist and my entire body was surging with excitement. His piercing blue eyes remained locked with mine as if to tell me there was no need to be afraid. My breathing changed to short, shallow breaths as he glanced down at my lips and began leaning his face in towards mine.

Just as our lips were about to touch, the bedroom door came flying open and Matt barged into the room stopping dead in his tracks when he looks at us. His brown eyes widening like an owl as he jumped back out of the room shouting. "Shit! Sorry! Carry on!" I shut my eyes and shook my head. Dammit Matt had the worst timing.

I heard a loud shuffling and rushing foot steps as Mike and Ian popped their heads in the door. "That's what I'm talking about!" Ian shouted enthusiastically with a goofy look on his face. I giggled as I felt my cheeks heat up. I stepped away from Josh not yet managing to look back into his eyes. I focused on my feet as Josh shooed the guys away from the door.

Once he was successful in shooing them he looked back at me from the door way. "I'll be in the living room." He said sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. I sighed, "I'll be out in a minute." He pulled the door closed as he left.

"Dammit Matt" I giggled to myself as I stepped into my jeans. I pulled the black shirt I was wearing over my head and searched the floor for my top. I spotted it in the corner below the dresser Josh had found my jeans on, threw it on and walked out into the living room while fixing my hair. Ian smiled at the sight of me.

"Having a good afternoon so far?" He teased. I crinkled up my nose and stuck out my tongue at him as I took my seat on a chair in the far corner of the living room. "Hey Matt you probably shouldn't leave Josh and Talia alone together!" Mike chirped. I could feel my cheeks heat up once again as I hid my face in my hands.

The guys laughed and carried on about Josh and I pretty much all afternoon. I excused myself to the kitchen to get a drink and escape their madness for a bit. I didn't turn back but apparently Josh had gotten up to join me because I could hear Ian shouting to Matt; "They're gonna have sex in your kitchen!" I shook my head as I reached for a glass in the cupboard.

Josh came up behind me and reached over my head, pulling out two glasses from the cupboard instead. "Their jokes are harmless, they're just extremely immature." He reassured me. I smiled up at him, "I know." I poured orange juice into our glasses and we made our way back into the living room. "Wow! That was quick!" Mike said playfully as we walked in. Ian's face lit up as he looked over at Josh. "A quick finisher are we, Josh?" Ian teased as Matt and Mike howled. I couldn't help but giggle along at their maturity level.

We all hung out at Matt's place until the moon was high in the dark sky. Time was flying by and I tried to hide my yawn as I listened to Mike's story about this girl he met named Michelle. She sounded pretty sweet and Mike seemed smitten as he rambled on about her. I looked over to Matt who was struggling to keep his eyes open over on the couch, I couldn't help but smile at him, I never did thank him for bringing me here last night. My eyes shifted from Matt over to the corner over the room where they fell upon Josh who was slouched into a chair distractedly staring at the tv. His eyes glanced up and locked with mine, he smiled. "You ready to go?" I looked back at Mike then over towards Matt one last time. "Yeah" I nodded. I stood up and gave Mike and Ian hugs and kisses goodbye, then I kissed Matt on the forehead and whispered a thank you into his ear. He forced his eyes open and curled his lips into a weak smile. "Have a good night." he mumbled.

Josh led the way out the door and to his car. I wondered where my car was and how he got his car back but I was too tired to question him right now. He opened the passenger door for me and I flopped down into the comfortable leather. He crawled into the driver's side and off we went.

The car ride back home was a little less exciting than the one to see the guys. For one because I'd really missed them and secondly because Josh and I had a lot more to say to each other. I looked out the passenger window and sighed as I watched the beautiful city of Vancouver fly by. Josh and I really hadn't said much to one another since Matt interrupted us. I peaked over at him from the corner of my eye, he still looked distracted by something as he glued his eyes on the traffic in front of us.

"Everything okay?" I managed to softly muster out my words. Josh looked over at me surprised, like he'd forgotten I was sitting there. He smiled thinly at me, his eyes not looking directly into mine. "Boy did this afternoon sure mess things up." I sighed as I thought to myself.

After a long silent car ride through the city traffic we finally pulled up to my apartment building. I saw my car parked where it normally was in my parking space as though it never moved. I unbuckled my seat belt and Josh turned off the car. "I wanna walk you to the door." He smiled his eyes finally meeting mine. I smiled back approvingly as I got out of the car.

We walked side by side to my apartment door, matching our strides. We stopped at my door and I dug around in my bag for my keys. I shoved the key into the lock and listened for the click.

I was about to push open the door when Josh's hands on my waist caught me by surprise. He spun me around to face him and brought me in close.
