:Chapter 4 - I may have screwed up

Val's view.

I remember when I was a boy...

I was chasing a cat on the streets...

That's when a truck came running towards me at the speed of light.

And then suddenly, a force pushed me down and made the truck missed me by a few inches away.

I survived that day.

Father Gregory came to my side.
He had seen the whole thing and was glad that I was safe.

I told him about someone pushing me down, making the truck missed me.

But no one was near 
And so he said-

"It must be the work of God's miracle. He is watching over you and protecting you from danger."

And I believed father's words...

All the good things that came my way must have been God's miracles.

When danger strikes,
I was protected by God

But this time...

I should have died, right?

I had just fallen from the 20th floor-
And yet, I'm alive

Unharmed.

Like nothing ever happened.

This shouldn't be possible, right?

"Hey... How did you survive that fall?" Gremory asks after coming down from the building. She stood right in front of Val in confusion as to why he had survived and started questioning him "Are you even human? What kind of power did you just use?! Are you a-"

"Are you a demon too?!"

'What is she talking about...? This simply is the work of God... right..?' Val reluctantly thought to himself, even he is confused about what had happened. But him being a demon is just nonsense, right?

"No wonder my spell didn't work on Jin." She said, but Val was so deep into his thoughts that she didn't hear anything she said.
