"What the hell was that!?" The chairman shouts, his anger a cover for the obvious fear etched on his face.

"You should thank her." Reid mumbles, pinning another thing to the board. What does he even do on that board?

"I painted the target on my back." I simply state, wiping off the eyeliner from my face.

"Why?"

"Because, none of these murders were about your daughter, they were about power. Once we catch this unsub we will be able to tie him to earlier murders, murders before the children. He moved to children because it draws attention, he started with runaways then average kids, then he decided to go after your daughter. I just did that press conference because although it may have looked like I just belittled the chairman and the police department, I actually belittled the unsub, meaning I'm the target not your daughter." I calmly say walking away.

"Dani."

I turn to around meeting Aaron's angry face, "What were you thinking?!" He shouts, causing me to flinch slightly.

Composing myself, I lick my lips, breaking eye contact, "Dave told me-"

"Is he your boss?"

"No," I meekly reply.

"You need to pass things by me, you just painted a target on your back."

"I kn-" I flinch extremely hard when Aaron lifts his hand to my face.

" You are aware I'm not going to hurt you right?" Aaron questions. I stay quiet, my focus on trying to calm my breathing.

"Hey baby-"

"I have to go."

Leaning my suitcase against the wall on the outside of Penny's office, I knock lightly on her door. When she doesn't answer I sigh and type in the code, letting myself in. We finished the case last night, the unsub had attempted to take my life in the elevator, imagine Dave's shock when I got to our floor with a man in hand cuffs.

Now all I had to do was give Penny one of her many phones back before I could head home and talk to Aaron. Or better yet, snuggle with Jack. Walking up to her desk I place the phone beside her keyboard. I go to turn around but end up stopping mid step when my brown eyes catch my name on Penelope's computer.

Scrunching my eyes in confusion, I click the little file, alarmed when a password icon pops up. Sucking in a deep breath I start typing, my code was a bit rusty but I was always good at computers, better then Penelope, and we both knew it.
