"2 caramel macchiato and blueberry cheesecake please" I said as I spoke to the cashier at Julie and I's favorite coffee shop when we were still together. I took a glimpse of her while waiting for the bill and I saw how sad her eyes are. I felt a tiny bit of anger starting to range. Ayokong nakikita si Julie looking like that. I saw her cry kanina and damn, it hurts like hell. Pero anong magagawa ko di ba? Kung sa kanya ayos lang na ganon ang trato sa kanya ng lalaking yun, hindi naman ako pwedeng makialam. Personal na buhay niya yun eh, hindi na ko parte ng pagkatao niya para makialam.. "Sir?" Narinig kong sabi ng cashier na kanina pa pala ako kinakausap "Ah yes?" "Bale 740 po lahat sir" "Ah okay" I said as I handed her my card "You know what miss, can you add s'mores to my order?" "Sure po sir, name na lang po? "Julie and Elmo, thank you" I walked towards Julie and sat in front of her "Lalim naman ng iniisp" sabi ko "Ha?" She said as she looked at me with confusion in her eyes "Wala, sabi ko I know how to make you feel better" then I winked at her which made her smile "Sure ka ba diyan? Baka sa lalim ng hinanakit ko mapahiya ka diyan" "Oo naman, I know you, every inch of you" and I looked at her with playful eyes "You used to know me" she said with a faint smile Well that was sad but maybe half true, pero sure ako hindi papalya tong happy pill niya "just trust me" She looked at me and raised her eyebrows as the barista called our name "Order for Julie and Elmo!" "Wait lang ha? Time to get your happy pill" "Okay go and let's see" I walked towards the counter and got our order, then walked back to Julie "Here you go Miss San Jose" I teased as I laid the food on the table "Okay caramel macchiato and cheesecake? I admit still my favorites, good job" "I know, thank you thank you, I jokingly said and took small bows "Sige na upo ka na and let's eat" "Wait, hindi yan yung happy pill" "Eh ano" she asked confused "This" I laid another plate on her table and her eyes grew wider and gave me a huge smile "Oh my God! S'mores! Haven't had one of these in ages!" I took out an instant camera and positioned it to get a perfect view of her "Happy ka?" I asked as I was getting ready to take a shot "Yes! Thank you Moe!" She said as she faced me with her cute smile which I luckily captured on film "Hey! Bawal paparazzi!" "Bakit sikat ka ba" "Ang daya mo, patingin baka mukha akong timang!" "Nope, saka hindi naman eh you look cute kaya, I think I'm gonna keep it" I felt silence as I was looking at her picture and when I looked at her she was looking at the camera I used "You still have that?" She asked without looking at me "Ah.. yeah.." "Mukhang good condition pa rin ah" "Yup, took care of it, importante yung nagbigay" She looked away and didn't bother to speak "Yung sayo?" I asked to break the tension "Hm? Di ko alam, nawala na eh, baka natago or natapon" I felt disappointed and wondered, ganun na lang ba talaga yun, hahayaan niya lang mawala yung mga importanteng bagay, pati tao... "Seryoso natin ah?" Her voice woke me up from thinking about it "Kain ka na" sabi ko na lang while I looked down on my plate and pretended to focus on eating I didn't wanna look at her, kasi feeling ko anytime may masasabi na naman siya para ipamukha na hindi na ko importante sa kanya "How's tita?" She finally asked "Super miss ko na siya, pakisabi naman kinakamusta ko siya" "I can't" matipid na sagot ko "Sungit ah" she answered back I looked at her and faintly smiled and spoke as she stared at me "I can't not because I don't want to, I can't because she's dead" I continued eating but i can see her dumbfounded face "Moe, kelan pa?" "Wag mo na lang alamin baka maguilty ka pa" I jokingly told her "Seryoso nga kelan pa" I took another bite of the cheesecake and faced her "Remember the night nung naaksidente ka and you were trying to call me?" "Hm?" She briefly said while looking straight into my eyes "Nirerevive kasi si mommy nung time na yun kaya hindi ko nasagot yung mga tawag mo" "Why didn't you tell me?" "I was trying to but you kinda cut me off when you said pagod ka na, you said you need time and space" "You still should've told me, I never would have.." "You never would have given an ultimatum?" I said to cut off her sentence "Moe..." "I know Jules, you didn't know the situation, I don't blame you for feeling like I wasn't there for you" "That's why you said you couldn't come home?" I looked down and tried to change the topic "Sarap pa rin ng food dito no" "Moe.." she looked at me intently and I know she wanted her question answered "Libing kasi ni Mommy yung date na napili mo, I asked you to extend kahit 2 days max, but you said pagod ka nang iadjust yung buhay mo para sakin, nung sinabi mong ayaw mo na, tama na, tapos na tayo, hindi ko agad naramdaman na masakit, hindi ko agad naisip na dapat pala lumaban ako, kasi Jules kakatalo ko lang sa isang laban, hindi ko na naisip na yung mga ganung bagay pala overnight lang effective permanently na" "Galit ka ba sakin?" And I saw how her eyes started to water "Hindi, kasi yung mga binitawan mong salita, kahit masakit alam kong totoo, ramdam ko, naisip ko rin siguro nga kasalanan ko, nagpromise naman kasi ako talaga sayo noon, na kahit nasaang mundo man ako, sa tuwing kailangan mo ko, walang dahilan na ibibigay, dadating ako" "Moe, I'm sorry" then I saw how her tears started falling I wiped her tears with my thumb and smiled "Wag ka ngang umiyak, baka isipin nila inaaway kita" "Kainis ka, sinisira mo yung moment" tapos tumawa siya kaya sumaya ulit yung puso ko "Kumain ka na para maiuwi na kita, I think you need to rest" Julie smiled at me and gave me glances as she started eating and I missed how cute she is doing simple things, she's right, she's not exactly the girl I left years ago, but this different girl gave my heart the same kind of feeling I had when I met my very first girlfriend years back. After a good meal and multiple times Julie telling me she feels better I drove home na, I parked at our house and asked Julie if I could walk her home and she agreed, as we approached her front door I called her... "Jules" She turned around and faced me with a smile "Hm?" "Here" I said as I handed her a folded enveloped "What's this?" She asked "An everyday reminder for you, Goodnight" I gave her a kiss on the cheek and walked back home while taking glances at her and seeing her smile at what I gave her.. "Moe!" I looked back at her and she waved her hand smiling and shouted "Thanks for the picture!" "You're welcome beautiful!"
