“If Derek isn't the Alpha... if he's not the one who bit you... then who did?” Stiles questioned Scott as the four walked together in the hall.

“I don't know.” Scott said glumly.

“Did the Alpha kill the bus driver?” Veronica asked.

    “I don't know.” Scott sighed.

“Does Allison's dad know about the Alpha?” Stiles pressed.

“I don't know!” Scott snapped angrily as Veronica looked up in shock.

“Jeez...” She mumbled awkwardly. “Cleanse your aura, Wolfie”

“Dude, you need to study more!” Stiles joked looking at Scott's paper,“That was a joke. Scott, it's one test! You're gonna make it up. Do you want help studying?” Stiles said defensively as he earned a pointed look from Scott.

“No, I'm studying with Allison after school today.” Scott said to them as Veronica smiled approvingly until she saw her paper.

F.

“That's my boy!” Stiles said proudly.

“We're just studying.” Scott said pointedly.

“Uh, no, you're not.” Veronica scoffed.

“No, I'm not?” Scott questioned confused.

“Not if I'm forced to live vicariously through you! If you go to her house today and squander that colossal opportunity, I swear to God, I'll have you de-balled.” Stiles said exasperatedly as Veronica groaned in disgust.

    “Ew.” She dragged out.

“Okay. Just... stop with the questions, man.” Scott sighed.

Stiles nodded,“Done. No more questions. No more talk about the Alpha, or Derek... especially Derek... who still scares me...”

Veronica gets up from the boys and leaves the class once she got a text Lydia. Stiles looked at her score confused. Veronica was the type of person to never get lower than an A.

“Are you ready to "just study" with Scott tonight.” Veronica teased. Derek Hale, though none of the girls had no idea he was in the school heard her voice. He couldn't help but listen in on her conversation.

“Scott's coming over? Tonight?” Lydia asked Allison.

“We're just studying together.” Allison assured them causing Veronica to roll her eyes before grabbing Allison's arms.

“"Just studying" never ends with just studying. It's like getting into a hot tub- somebody eventually cops a feel.” Veronica said to her.

“Well, so what are you saying?” Allison asked anxiously.

“I'm just saying, you know, make sure he covers up...” Veronica shrugged before letting go of her arms and turned around.

Lydia gasping at her confused best friend,“Hello, Snow White! Do it with him with a condom.”

“Are you kidding? After one date?” Allison said incredulously

“Don't be a total prude. Give him a little taste.” Lydia said shrugging.

“Well, I-I mean... how much is "a little taste?"” Allison asked nervously.

“Oh, God! you really like him, don't you?” Lydia groaned.

“Well, he's just different. When I first moved here, I had a plan- no boyfriends 'til college. I just move too much. But... then, I met him, and... he was different. I-I don't know. I can't explain it.” Allison smiled unknowingly.

“I can. It's your brain flooding with phenylethylamine.” Lydia said confusing both girls.

    “What?” Allison frowned.

“I'll tell you what to do. When's he coming over?” Lydia asked reassuringly.

“Right after school.” Allison answered bluntly.

    “Hmm...” Lydia hummed thoughtfully.

Veronica slugged her bag around her room before dropping it at the foot over her bed and plopping down. She couldn't help but be completely exhausted.

“Veronica!” someone yelled making the girl whip her head around. She was met with a dark black room. Curiously she walked around looking for a sign of the person her yelled her name,“Veronica.” they whispered.

    “Mom?” she asked curiously.

“I can't stay for long. There's something I have to tell you.” Michelle said. “Your sisters, your aunt they-” she turned around cautiously before running off.

“How convenient. I buried the fortune in the-” she said mockingly before chasing her running mother into the unknown.

Veronica needed answers, and sure chasing after someone's who's dead probably isn't the best idea but how else would she get those answers.

“Veronica. Don't go too far.” another voice whispered. That one wasn't her mom's voice.

“What?” she asked while turning around.

    "Derek. Find Derek." Michelle said.

“Wake up.” someone whispered. “Ronnie. Ronnie wake up!” they whispered more urgently.

“Am I boring you Ms. Sterling?” Mr. Gilbert asked causing Veronica to sit up straight as something smacked against her desk.

“I- um. No sir. No you are not.” Veronica said before looking back at Stiles who gave her an apologetic look. Once Mr. Gilbert turned around she leaned back to Stiles,“Stiles- I don't remember coming to class.” she whispered.

“What?” he asked as he leaned forward.

“My mother- she had something she needed to tell me and then ran off so I began following after her. But then someone told me not to go to far and I got confused and lost her. And then I woke up.” she said.

“Your mom?” he asked slightly confused.

    “Yes Stiles my mom.”

    “The one that's-”

“Yes Stiles my dead mother.” she said snappily as Stiles nodded.

“Your dead mom is trying to contact you from the beyond the grave?” he repeated one last time.

“Yes!” she said loudly causing everyone to look at her,“I just love history.” she finished awkwardly making the class laugh.

Veronica turned around and gave Stiles a look. He flashed the girl a sheepish smile which made her smile back. Justin watched the interaction from across the classroom and glared at Stiles.

Veronica was putting her history books in her locker when Justin came over to her,“Hey!” he said trying to kiss her cheek but she quickly turned away.

“Friends, remember.” she said, though she held a bright smile,“Hi.” she stared at him for a few seconds, Her eyes fall onto the ring that was on his finger,“did you get a new ring?”

“Nope. I've been wearing it for awhile now.” he said to the girl who frowned slightly. She hadn't noticed it before. The girl pushed the thought to the back of her head before giving him a smile once more.

“I have french,” she said while grabbing the french book from her locker,“également connue comme la langue la plus sexy du monde.” also known as the sexiest language in the world.

“Well in that case, I'll walk you to class.” Justin said as he wrapped his arm around his shoulders. Veronica's smile faltered slightly at the energy she felt around the boy. He was jealous. Of what he was jealous for, that she did not know.
