📜 Chapter 15 : Sweet Child Of Mine

Sloan Hayes (Melora Hardin) and her lover Palmer (Sam Page) were making out like crazy as the thunder boomed outside.  They were really going at it when there was a knock on the door.

Palmer nibbled her neck and said “ignore it, maybe they will go away.” The knocking persisted and Sloan broke away from him and said “ What if someone needs help.” She went to open the door to Palmer’s chagrin to find an attractive man staring back at her !

Sloan said , “ can I help you? “ The stranger answered  “Does Aaron Hayes live here?” Sloan replied “ he’s my husband but he’s not here right now. Who are you?” Sloan and Palmer were shocked when the man (Scott Eastwood) responded “ I’m Harrper  Adams and Aaron Hayes is my father.” Sloan invited Harper in and said “ You must be mistaken my husband doesn’t have any children despite his numerous affairs.” Hayes replied “ sorry for the shock but I have proof right here that he’s my father.” He handed Sloan a letter from his now dead mother and Sloan read it aloud ,

“ Hayes if you are reading this then I’m dead.  You were the light of my life and I apologize for not having a father figure for you. I guess it didn’t matter we did ok my ourselves didn’t we? Your father’s name is Aaron Hayes in case you want to find him after I’m gone. Your father and I had a one night stand years ago. I knew he was married but I didn’t care. For that one glorious it was just him and I in the world in that hotel room. That night we created you and I will never regret it. I never saw him again. When I found out I was pregnant I contacted him but he accused me of seducing him and getting pregnant on purpose. I reminded him that he wasn’t exactly saying no to the things I did to him that night. He told me he wanted nothing to do with me or ‘bastard child of mine’. Even when I gave him proof he refused to even offer support for you. I raised you all on my own. Now that my time on earth is done, I wanted  you to know the truth. I never regretted that night because I got an incredible son out of it, the best son a mother could ever hope for. It’s up to you if you want to see him. I’m getting tired now my beautiful son so I’ll end here. Know that I will always be with you and love you.” 

After Sloan read the letter she said “I’m so sorry about your mother and for the way my husband treated her. Is that why you are here on this stormy night? To meet him?” Harper nodded and said “I just want to see the bastard who abandoned his child and his mother.”  Sloan turned to Palmer and said “ do you mind leaving? I want to talk to Harper alone before that bastard gets home.” Palmer gave her a deep kiss and left. Sloan said to Harper ,

“ What will you do when you meet Aaron?” Harper replied “I have thought about this moment from the time I read the letter.”

When Aaron ( John James )

got home Harper attacked him
