He stormed into the bathroom and I automatically braced for a blow, unknowingly shielding his

child. Instead of slapping me, his hand caressed my cheek. "I promise you on my mother's grave,

I would not hurt you like that again." His eyes then roamed down my body before he shook his

head once as if clearing it and spoke again. This time he spoke in English. "I am troubled...by the

way I treated you. I wish I had done better."


Troubled, but still not an apology, only Vladimir thinks that's okay.


Lifting my chin, he stared deeply into my eyes and for a few moments we just stare stupidly at 

each other. It was the weirdest thing. Then he opens his mouth as if to speak...but then he 

closed it without a word, and simply kisses me tenderly on my cheek and leaves.


I had no words for what just happened. My body was flushed red from head to toe from our eerie

little moment. Frankly, I didn't want to dwell on it too much, but as I resumed my shower, I know

I made a mistake somehow and didn't follow Nora's advice. That was all his fault, he always 

annoys me somehow and I forget the plan. Then it's his early morning ambushes that takes me a

while to get my bearings around.


How the hell was I supposed to execute a proper form of attack with him being all...I don't even

know how to say it...lovey? Lovey is what I want right...maybe I should ask Nora, I decided as I 

switched off the shower. I tip toed back to his bedroom afraid to run into him and have more of 

that awkward moment. Once the coast was clear, I ran through the connecting door frame to the

walk-in and changed hurriedly as if he was coming any second.


What the hell was I doing? I was being ridiculous that's what. I calmed the hell down and exited 

the walk-in like a normal human being only to jump out of my skin in fear.


"It's only me, Your Highness." Nora assured glancing behind her. I barely opened my mouth 

when she cut me off, I don't have much time, but I came to assure you the plan is working."


"Huh?" What plan? I didn't do anything yet! I thought.


My confusion must have shown on my face because she went on excitedly. "He brought you a 

present! He returned early just to give it to you. This is good! Mila will come soon, so I must go. 

Remember, be sweet and agreeable."


I stared after her fleeing form, feeling like I was in an alternate world. The plan we concocted 

days ago wasn't even given a chance, Vladimir showed up early on his own, with no luring home 

on my account. What the hell was happening? My stomach growled, and I decided to put the
