Don't be stupid, Azura! I mentally scolded as I walked down the empty hallway. He was an
abusive murderer, a kidnapper and a rapist. No woman in their right mind picks that for their
happily ever after. No matter how pretty the package may look, just remember, its rotten to the
core. Besides, he's only being nice because he doesn't want anything bad happen to his brat
and once his little spawn of Satan is out of me, he'll go right back to being the Devil.
He said he had another business trip, more like avoiding answering the question. I wonder what
exactly he does to make money. In fact, what the hell does he do besides act like a royal
jackass?
He inherited money but even I knew how to add. The upkeep on this castle alone must have
cost some poor soul more like times to make. So, how did he make money?
That wasn't the only thing I realized I didn't know about my royal husband. I knew virtually
nothing about the man besides, he looks good naked. Why was that the first thing that came to
mind and why should I know anything about him. He knew everything about me and my family
and used it catch me. It's probably the same reason he won't talk about his family. They're his
weakness!
So, what now? I find someone willing to tell me about his family, but how? The staff would send
me to him with my questions and Vladimir wasn't talking but...documents are kept in his office
and I know a certain maid who can pick locked drawers! Why didn't I think of this earlier? Can I
use her to get free? We'll see!
*****************
It took all day to track the maid down and a little difficult since Mila wanted to know why I
required a different maid. I had to create a very flimsy lie about seeing her and not knowing her
name (Totally true!) and feeling embarrassed to call her by a wrong name. (Somewhat true and a
little shady.) But hey, it got the job done!
Nora, (that was her name) worked in the north wing, was pointed out to me. No wonder I didn't
see her often, I have no reason to go to the guest wing, unless we have guests and the
probability of that happening was in the negatives. Another strange thing about Nora, she was
French! When she spoke to me, she did it in fluent Russian, so I had no idea she wasn't from
around here until Mila mentioned it.
I was pleased to find my accomplice, but she wasn't. She lost all colour as she spied me walking
towards her. No doubt she thought I meant to betray her, taking a gamble, I immediately
assured her in English. "He still doesn't know."
