Friday, the best and worst day. That's what's Nancy used to say. She loved and hated Friday's. She said they were the best because you had the weekend to enjoy and she hated them because that meant you'd be away from your friends for two days. I never knew the hatred for a Friday, I only loved them. Two days away from these people, what's not to love?

Krystal walked the school halls, tucked to the side, trying to hide now more than other. She felt like everyone was looking. Everyone saw. It was nothing new to the days before, but that doesn't mean she didn't still hate it.

Blake tried to see Krystal through out the day but never could find her. When he was looking for her, she wasn't there; when he wasn't paying attention, she was. Just that thought alone, annoyed Blake.

Their history and geography class only combined on certain days of the week; Tuesday and Thursday. They sat in different classrooms, both bored to the point of napping.

This is so boring! How can people even find history exciting? Doesn't the phrase "been there, done that." mean anything to them?

I like learning about the world, but this is just bland! It's just a bunch of rocks. I know it's one of the great wonders or whatever, but it's boring. They're just rocks.

"Are you going to hang out with your girlfriend." Ted joked with a smug look, Blake rolled his eyes.
"She's not my girlfriend, we're friends." His friends erupted with laughter.
"Dude, you can't be friends with Moon girl." Noah shook his head with a grin.
"Oh, they aren't just friends. They even hung out last night!" Ted added fuel to their fire.
"You what!" Joshua clapped Blake on the back. "You can't go hanging around girls like her."
"What's wrong with her?" Blake's blood was starting to boil.
"Relax dude, she's just not at our level."
"And what level is that?" Joshua threw his hands up, surrendering.
"She's dangerous, isn't she?" Asked Chester.
"What? No, of course not." Blake defended Krystal.

Can we just move on from the girl? I only want to talk good thing about her and they clearly have something else in mind.

"Are you sure? Maybe she brainwashed you in her basement!"
"We have a school project together, we went to the museum. Can we be done now?
"Aw, come on man." Ted pouted.
"You guys are assholes." Blake shrugged his friends off and walked to the cafeteria.

Now I get why she hates people in my friend group, I hate those people too right now. She did nothing to deserve this.

Blake stood in the lunch line alone. A girl across the counter was making googily eyes at him. He just gave her a small nod and smile. Movement to his right caught his eye, causing him to turn his head.

How bold and striking she looks with her hair up. Who cares about the scar? I just want to shout at this school to look at this girl. I mean seriously, she's beautiful!

Krystal woke up late this morning. In an event to save time, she threw her hair up in a high pony to avoid having to wash her hair. Blake's eyes followed her to the end of the line. She played with the tip of her hair with her long fingers.

I feel like everyone is looking, starring. I feel sick to my stomach. I just need to get my food and get outside. Just a few minutes Krystal, you can do this.

"Are you going to move up?" The girl behind him, stared nervously at him.
"Uh, yeah. Sorry." He grabbed his things and slid up.

Blake rejoined his friends dispute it being against his better judgement. They chatted among themselves, Blake got lost in the background noice.

Where did she go? She really good at that. Hiding. Disappearing. A magician might be a career choice for her.

Blake smiled at him own joke, but quickly dropped it. His eyes searched the cafeteria for her molasses ponytail. It was no where to be found.

Why couldn't we have class every day? I need to work on my project or whatever.

"Lost your girlfriend?" Ted pokes at Blake.
"Don't have a girlfriend, I thought I saw something outside." He tried to play it off as nothing. Ted rolled his eyes and went back to the conversation.

After Blake scarfed down his food he dumped his trash and went for a walk outside. More like a hunt, but he turned up empty.

Where does this girl disappear to? She's such a mystery.

Tucked away in a quiet corner, Krystal searched for places to visit with Blake. She wasn't willing to admit that she cared or that she was trying, but she did it in secret.

The museum was pretty cool, I have to admit, but where else should we go?

Krystal scoured the internet looking for anything decent until the bell rang, signaling the end of senior lunch.

The rest of the day dwindled slowly. Krystal still kept the project in the back of her mind. Thinking of different places to go and things to see. For as long as she's lived her, she hasn't seen much.

Nancy was the adventurous one. She took me out to places and showed me things. She used to drag me to weird places and tell me back stories on them. Whether they were true or not I'll never know, but it was fun. It was something we did together, the two of us.

At the end of the day Krystal and Blake fought through the masses of students towards the parking lot. Lately she's been parking in the senior lot, Blake managed to always find a spot close to hers. Among the chaos, they both looked up in time to catch each other's eyes. A smile flickered on her face and Krystal nodded. Blake inhaled deeply and smiled at her. His teeth was hidden behind his lips, forcing his faint dimple more prominent. His eyes even sparkled. Krystal couldn't help but smile, teeth and all. Blake couldn't help but smile back even wider, brighter than hers.

He smiles like a child. It's so wide and goofy looking.

How can people not see the girl under that scar? She's all I can see.
