I was walking with Cole. He was sweet, but something was still off. I thought I was just trying to find something wrong with him, so I could break off the relationship.

"I'll be right back, baby. I have something I need to do." Cole told me before walking the opposite direction. I stood in the same place for a few minutes. What did he want me to do? Just sit and stay like a dog, and wait for him to return. I don't think so. I turned around following the direction he took. I had been walking a few minutes when I heard a heated conversation. One voice was very familiar. Cole.

"You owe me money!" His voice raised a little.

I peaked around the corner, seeing Cole hold a gun that had a suppressor to a mans head. I gaspsed to myself, throwing my back against the brick wall, where I couldn't be seen.

"I'm sorry. I promise I'll pay you!" The man pleaded.

"Too late." I heard Cole cock the pistol.

The man went into hysterics. "No please! I have a family. Ki.." The mans pleading was cut off by a faint noise, then a loud thump echoed out of the ally to where I was standing.

I knew it was over. My survival instincts finally took over, as I dashed down the street. I didn't know what to do. Where to go. I ran all the way home, not even knowing how I was able to accomplish that task. I had been miles from there. As I stepped into my apartment, I realized it was straight adrenaline. I felt myself begin to crash, and everything catch up with me. My eyelids felt heavy and I couldn't hold them open anymore. I fell to the ground, trying to fight it with everything I had. I failed.

I woke up to banging on my door. I rubbed my eyes, as all the memories came rushing back. 'Uh oh!'

"Natalie!" Cole raised his voice.

Maybe if I act normal, then he won't notice anything different. Then once he leaves, I can call the cops. Yeah. That's what I will do.

"One second." I yelled back, checking myself in the mirror, making sure I didn't look to disheveled.

I opened the door, and smiled. "Where were you?" He asked with his electric blue eyes narrowed. He looked a mess. His brown hair was going everywhere and his clothes were all rumpled.

I shrugged. "I got tried of waiting. So I decided I would hale a cab."

He studied me for a moment, then smiled. It was fake. I now knew that.

"I'm sorry honey. Let me take you out to dinner."

I thought for a moment. I had to play along if I wanted out alive.

"Alright, let me grab my purse."

As I got into the car with him, I felt my nerves run wild. I twitched nervously and waited for him to drive. After 30 minutes on the road, I started to freak out. We were headed out into the middle of no where.

"Where are we going babe?" I asked with fake sweetness.

He then pulled over. I looked around knowing I was in deep trouble. Only abandoned warehouses.

"Cole?" I questioned.

A sinister laugh echoed through the car. "I saw you, you know? Running. You saw something you shouldn't. Now, I have to get rid of you." I froze for a second. That meant... No!

I pulled the door opening, running for my life the second time today. A gunshot rang through the air making me scream. I couldn't stop. I couldn't look back! It was raining and the water was starting to obscure my vision. I screamed, "No" as I slipped, falling to my hands and knees. I knew it was over. I turned around, scooting away from Cole as much as I could!

His hand shot out slapping me across the face, forcing another scream past my lips.

"Please. I didn't see anything!" I pleaded. Tears running down my cheeks.

Cole just shook his head at me. "You're a liar, Natalie. Tsk tsk." I was running out of time.

"Cole, I promise!" I tried again. I was full out crying now. I was surprised when he punched me in the face, sending me flat on my back. I didn't even have time to scream. I knew what was coming next, so I just kept my eyes closed.

A loud noise came from the warehouse to the side of me, making both Cole and I look. Cole's gun clattered to the ground, grabbing my attention. I heard him scramble for it. The ground rattled and I watched as a figure landed on the gun, making it and the ground crack under the pressure.

I slowly lifted my eyes, seeing what I thought was a man, with huge, long, black wings spread. He was shirtless, giving me a full view of his muscular back. His wings were attached in the middle of his back, looked to be real. He made a snarling noise at Cole, making him take off running. I sat frozen, not believing what I was seeing.

"Magnificent!" I couldn't help but let the word slip out. I watched his muscles tense, and slowly turn around. I was stunned speechless. His face... it was.. flawless. He had black hair and eyes. His nose was straight. His jaw and cheekbones were perfectly defined.

I stood up, uneasy as my legs started to wobble. I could feel myself loosing consciousness. "Miss." He stated. I watched his muscles ripple as he brought his hand out, taking a step forward.

"Beautiful." I whispered to myself, right as everthing went black.

I shot up awake, just as the dream ended. Looking at my surroundings, I knew I was screwed. I wasn't home. I was in a warehouse. I heard a shuffle and looked to the corner.

"Don't freak out," the guys voice was like silk. As he spoke, I could see small fangs shining through. He took a step out of the shadows, and I gasped. A dream. This was all a dream.

"No. No. Not again! Stay awake, please." He was by my side in a flash.

My eyes grew wide as I saw him closer. He was even more handsome close up, but this time his eyes weren't black. One was the lightest blue, while the other was the brightest green I had ever seen. I reached my hand up, and lightly touched his face. It felt so smooth. "You feel so... real." I whispered.

He laughed, and grabbed my hand from his face, laying it back beside me. "I am real." His fangs gleamed as he chuckled and then spoke. I couldn't help but stare at his beauty.

"Wait, you're real?" I asked unconvinced.

"Yes," he simply stated then, "Oh shit." Right before everything went dark again.
