Chapter XVIII

CHAEYOUNG

After teasing Jeongyeon unnie. I hurriedly went to my room.

As I was preparing for bed, my mind drifted to thought of my ex, Mina. After two long years, I still have this attachment towards her even though we don't talk anymore. Visions of her when we were still together kept running in my head, like an avalanche, I can't stop it.

Few Minutes Later

Argh! I still can't sleep.

I get up and went out to drink some water. When I was on my way back, I heard someone talking on the balcony.

"You were confused, Mina..."

Mina? O_O

Jeongyeon unnie knew Mina?

The Mina I knew?

I became curious after hearing her mention Mina's name. So, I decided to hide behind the curtains and eavesdrop on their conversation.

"... that guy brainwashed you!"

What? Brainwashed?

What is she saying?

"But Mi---"

"Unnie?" I cutted Jeongyeon unnie.

I can't keep eavesdropping anymore. I need to know what's going on.

She hung up the phone and looked at me with shock.

"Chaeyoung."

"How long have you been there?"

...

"You know Mina?" Instead of answering her, I asked the question that keeps lingering in my head after hearing them talk on the phone.

She took a deep breath and motioned me to stand near her side facing the buildings in front of us.

"You see... Mina. She's my cousin, Chaeng. That's all I can really tell you."

She turned and faced me.

"I don't know how much you've heard but I hope you won't hate Mina, Chaeng."

How can I? I have so many reasons to hate her but it only takes one reason to erase all the hatred.

I still love her. I always do.

"Tell her to come on the exhibit, unnie." I said.

Without waiting for unnie's response, I walked back to my room.

Jeongyeon watched as Chaeyoung went back to her room. She's still processing what the latter said.

She can't believe Chaeyoung wanted Mina to attend her exhibit but nevertheless she smiled thinking this will be a great opportunity for the two to talk things out and maybe save their relationship.

Jeongyeon always think that these two needed to have their reconciliation and maybe get back together for she believes that only Chaeyoung can save Mina.
