Chapter 13: Catching up

Y/N's POV

Me, Clem, Kenny, and the man walked in the lodge. It was really nice.

???: Kenny and Sarita have been staying with us for several weeks. Used to be a ski lodge, obviously, so we have plenty of food. And believe it or not, we still get some power from that wind turbine out front. We tend to keep most of the lights off at night to avoid drawing attention.

Kenny then turned around facing us and mimed the man talking. Making me and Clem giggle a little.

???: What's funny

Kenny: Oh nothing Walt. Walter here is one smart son of a bitch. Makes a mean can of beans, too.

Walter: Well why don't you three catch up while I get some dinner started? 

Everyone except Carlos, Sarah, and the woman who I assume is Sarita walks in.

Walter: Please, make yourselves at home. You can leave your things over there.

Rebecca: The hell we will.

Nick: Yeah, I'm holding on to my rifle, thanks.

Walter: You're our guests here. There's no need to worry.

Nick: Tell him to put his gun down then.

Referring to Kenny.

Walter: Kenny?

Kenny: Will you vouch for these people, Clem and Y/N?

Y/N: They're good.

Clementine: They're cool.

Then Carlos, Sarah, and Sarita walked in.

Sarah: Dad! Look! A Christmas tree!

Carlos: Not now, Sarah.

Sarita: Isn't it great? We found it all in storage.

Sarah: It's amazing.

Kenny then puts down his gun as everyone then puts their stuff down.

Sarita: Good. If you'll all follow me, I'll show you where you can sleep.

Kenny then signals me and Clem to follow him. We do and we sit on the couch. Kenny looks at Clem.

Kenny: Still wearing this dirty old thing huh?

He then looks at both of us.

Kenny: I half expected to see Lee walk up next to you two. You guys were like three peas in a pot.

Me and Clem then frown. Kenny noticed.

Kenny: Shit I'm sorry. It's just hard not to think about, you know?

Clementine: He saved me.

Clem then smiles at me.

Clementine: Y/N too.

Kenny then looks at me.

Kenny: I knew it! You knew you and Lee would! You two had a fire.

Y/N: Me and Lee fought through a herd just to get to her.

Both Kenny and Clem looked at me in shock

Kenny: Goddamn.

Clementine: You did that?! For me?

Y/N: Yes Clem. You are very important to me. I HAD to get you back.

Clem then give me the biggest smile she ever gave me. She looked like she was trying to fight the urge to jump on top of me and give me the biggest hug anyone could give. Kenny noticed and chuckled.

Kenny: Are you two together or something?

Me and Clem both start blushing very hard.

Y/N: Why do people always think that?!

Kenny: Because you both look like it. Even Lee thought you two would make a cute couple.

We blush harder.

Clementine: He said that?!

Kenny: Sure did. He was a hell of a guy. When my son... He helped me do the right thing. I will never forget that.

We stayed silent.

Kenny: Where did you two end up?

Clementine: I was with Christa and Omid. Omid... well... Christa and us were together for a while, but these guys caught us.

Y/N: She's dead as well.

Kenny: Sounds like it ain't been easy for you guys.

Y/N: When I saw you in that herd trying to save Ben. I didn't know what happened to you. I thought you were dead.

Kenny: I am! This is all a dream.

Kenny then started laughing.

Kenny: Sorry. Bad joke. I was in that herd yes. I was able to get out. Long story short. I got lucky. Real lucky. Spent a long time alone after that. It, uh... And I met Sarita, thank god. Gosh, it's great to have you two back.

Sarita walks to us.

Sarita: You three catching up?

Kenny: Clem, this is my girl, Sarita. Ain't she beautiful?

Sarita: Nice to meet you, Clementine and and Y/N.

Kenny: Hey Walt, where's Matthew? He still out there rooting around?

Walter: Of course he is. Well, I'll start dinner.

Kenny: Clem? Y/N? How about you help Walt with dinner. 

We then walk towards Walter.
