THE DEPARTURE

I woke up, put my clothes on, had breakfast, and waited for Simon by the window, holding my toy. I was waiting for him to finish his work as always.

He returned earlier for the first time. I ran, knocked on the door, and he opened it without saying a word. His eyes were full of sadness, tears running down his cheeks. He left with the door open.

I was shocked to see him like this, and I wondered, Did someone die? Why is he that sad?

Then he said that his mom was dying, so he had to quit his job to fly to Mexico and spend with her the last days of her life.

I didn't know what to say. That shocked me even more. His mom is dying, and he's leaving me for months!
I went back home, and my parents told me that they were leaving tomorrow to go to the countryside for a few weeks. 

Being alone for a few weeks couldn't hurt, I thought. I entertained myself by watching Netflix, learning to cook, and doing some crazy stuff. 

One night, I sat on the couch to take a look at this weird grandma's newspaper again. A few minutes later, I heard some loud noise outside. I threw the newspaper away and went to check through all the windows, trying to see what happened, but nothing was there. I went back searching for my newspaper but a picture fell off. Suddenly a sound of a glass breaking rang in my ears.

... استيقظت ، ارتديت ملابسي ، تناولت الفطور وانتظرت سيمون على النافذة ممسكا بلعبتي حتى أنهى عمله كما هو الحال دائمًا.

.... عاد في وقت سابق لأول مرة .... ركضت ... طرقت الباب وفتح  لي بعيون مليئة بالحزن والدموع على خدي شفة ، غادر مع فتح الباب.

لقد انصدمت برؤيته هكذا ، هل مات شخص؟ لماذا انت حزين؟

ثم قال إن والدته تحتضر لذا سيضطر إلى ترك البلد للسفر إلى المكسيك وقضاء أيامها الأخيرة معه.

لم أكن أعرف ماذا أقول ، وهذا صدمني أكثر حتى أن والدته تموت ويتركني لشهور!

عدت إلى المنزل وأخبرني والداي أنهم سيغادرون غدا إلى الريف لبضعة أسابيع.

 لن تشعر بالوحدة لمدة بضعة أسابيع ، لذا فقد استمتعت بمشاهدة. نتفليكس وتعلمت الطبخ لأقوم ببعض الأشياء المجنونة.

ذات ليلة،

جلست على الأريكة لإلقاء نظرة على صحيفة الجدة الغريبة ، بعد بضع دقائق ، سمعت بعض الضوضاء الصاخبة في الخارج فألقيت  الصحيفة  وذهبت لتفقد جميع النوافذ محاولًا رؤية ما حدث ولكن لم يكن هناك شيء ، عدت لاتبحث في صحيفتي ولكن سقطت صورةعلى الارض ... فجأة دوي صوت زجاج مكسور في أذني ...
