"What do you mean missing?" I asked
"Well missing as in they aren't there" Caleb replied irritatingly
"Well are you sure, maybe you miss counted how many should there be?"
"Exactly 1000" he replied.
"You guys release 1000 specimen a month?" James asked
"Yeah"
"For the entire city?"
"Country!"
"For real! Well I suppose thats how they've been controlling population rate" james said
"Your right and you know controll the population, controll everything else" caleb finished.
"But are you certain it was a 1000? Maybe you miss counted" I said to caleb
"I did not miss count. I reviewed and counted the specimen 3 times yesterday before they were sent up for relaese today, it was a thousand."
"Let me see" said kevin coming over to the computer.
"So every country releases 1000 a month?" James ask caleb.
"Well im not sure. For othe countries it might vary depending on size and what the government sees fit" he answered.
"Guys come look at this" said kevin calling us over. Turning the transluscent screennto us.
"What exactly sre we looking at?" I asked a bit clueless.
"The files not only are they missing.....they've been deleted"
"What!" Exclaimed Caleb "that cant be right!"
"Well why not....that would explaine why they're not there" I said to him
"No you dont understand each speciman is unique, just like a person and so each has thier own file like a birth certificate and even when specimens dont get sent up for release thier files arent deleted but sent to the company's Deflect folder so to say a file is deleted well that just not how its done, there must have been a mistake!"
"I dont think so" said kevin this time a bit of wavering in his voice.
"What is it kev?" James asked
"Well it shows here.....that files have been being deleted for the past 15 years!"
"Thats purposturous!" Exclaimed caleb "let me see" he said rotating the screen toward him.
"Its right there" said kevin.
"This cant be right" said caleb after staring at the screen for a moment. "I mean the board of directers for Ursula strictly demand a 1000 specimen a month, its stand of procedure"
"But look at this" I said motioning to the screen. "Its inconsistent"
"What do you mean?" Asked james
"Well last month it says that all 1000 specimens were released but the month before that only 800"
"Yes and two month before that all specimens were released but not the month before that" added kevin
"This honestly doesnt make any sense" said Caleb. He look lost like someone stole something valuable from him.
"Wait you said that you counted off 1000 specimens right?" James asked Caleb
"Right"
"Well that means whoever or what ever deleted these files deleted them after that count was made" he concluded
"But why would anyone want to deleted files of specimen?" I asked "and more importantly where are those specimens that were deleted?" My question left a silence that hung in the air. Every one was puzzeled.
"Wonder what the president will have to say about this?" I heard caleb say
"Wait what does the president have to do with this?" Every looked at me "I mean besides being the president" I cleared my throat
"Well he is the chairman of the board here at Ursula" caleb replied
"Yeah" james confirmed "I dont think he will be pleased"
Cromwell, chairman of the board??
"All visitor are being reminded that visiting period will be closed in the next 15 mins" a voice came over the speaker
"You guys have to leave now" caleb said to us
"Ok um...caleb" I said as I hugged him
"Yeah"
"Can you do me a favor?"
"Anything, what do you need money a place to stay-"
"No" I cut him off
"Can you not tell the president about this?"
"Excuse me?!" He said pulling away
"What is it" james said coming over to us
"Why shouldnt I tell him he's the chairman he has a right to know" caleb said
"Well....lets just say.....your pesident isnt who you all think he is"
