Reunited

Over the week in Italy, Emma adjusted being a mom to Hope and taking care of her mother in the psych ward, traveling through and from the hospital even though she missed Killian terribly being in Europe, she was happy to have their daughter with her. When the doctor was with them, Emma would facetime her sister, to translate to her what the doctor meant. Emma carried Hope who was wearing onesie <i>"My Daddy is a pilot."</i> with a bib on top and jean and the diaper bag into Mary-Margaret's hospital room. "Hi, Mom."
Mary-Margaret was always so happy to see Emma and Hope every time they visited her. "Hi, Emma. Hi, Hope." Hope babbles. Emma sits next to her Mom and lets her hold Hope. "How is my granddaughter today? Are you being a good girl for Mommy?" Hope babbles. Emma gives Hope a teething toy. "Are you chewing on a teething toy?" She kisses Hope on the head.
"She is still teething. She was up most of the night in pain."
"You got no sleep?"
"Not too much, I was making sure Hope was sleeping. She does not like the hotel's crib so she sleeps with me which makes her happy." Emma wiped Hope's drool. "I think she misses Killian. We Facetime every day but it is not the same as in person."
"Have you heard from Allison?"
"Yes, we also Facetime every day. She is my best friend and my big sister. I just know that when we return home, we are going to have a sleepover. How are you feeling?"
"Better...." She hugs Hope. "I am so sorry, Emma. I was not in the right state of mind. I just knew when you all leave..I was going to be alone all over."
"Mom, that is why Allison bought you an iPhone, so we can text and Facetime with you all the time. We want you back with us in the states so you can live closer with us and visit us and your grandchildren." Hope babbles. "Hopey, are you telling grandma to come back with us?" Hope babbles.
"Hope, I will come back to the United States when I feel better. I just need to know where I am going to live."
"You can live with Allison or I."
"I do not know..."
Emma sits next to her Mom and hugs her."Mom. We are your family. We need you in our lives. I need you, my mom. I never had a mom. I am still finding Dad but...if you only come back to America for him..."
"Emma, I want to be in yours and Allison's lives. I just need the courage to come back."
"You are a citizen of the United States."
"Yes, I have been thinking of coming back to America, not where I grew up but...I do want to be free and not to be a nun anymore."
"How about after you get the okay to leave her. You can think of moving back to the United States, you are welcome to live with Killian and I or with Allison and Ted. You are part of our family, Mom. We both need you in our lives, we can be in your life. You can get the psychiatrist to get the help you need in America."
"I do want to live closer to my children and grandchildren." Hope makes poop.
"Hopey." She takes Hope from her mom and changes her in the bathroom and let Hope do tummy time on the bed.
"I will come back and live in New York. I want to be able to live on my own..."
"We can help you, Mom, to get your independence which you deserve." They hug
When Emma was not visiting her mother in the hospital, Emma was researching to find her biological father, her mother told her his name was David Nolan. She was doing research on her laptop, while Hope was napping on the bed they shared. Emma found information of her birth father. She got a Facetime call from Killian on her iPhone. "Hi, captain."
"Hi, swan. What time is there?"
"Around 10:00pm. Are you getting ready to work?"
"Aye, I got up extra early to Facetime my two loves."
"We miss you so much."
"Aye, I miss you both so much."
"Hope was up crying last night. I was not sure if it was her teething or she misses her Daddy."
"You two are almost heading back."
"Yes, we leave Saturday."
"It is only for two days."
"I know, two days then we will be back together."
"How are my two loves today?"
"We are doing good. Hope and I got dinner together after we visited Mom. We just got back from visiting Mom."
"How is your Mom?"
"She is getting better. She is actually thinking of quitting the nunhood."
Killian smiles. "Oh really?"
"Yes,she wants to be in the states but she wants to live on her own."
"Aye, I do not blame her, being controlled what to do, she never was able to make any decision in her own life."
"Yes, that is why we are going to support her. I spoke to Allison already about it. Mom wants to recover before returning back to America."
"Any luck finding your father?"
"Yes, I found his information online. He currently lives in Connecticut. I emailed him and called him. I am still waiting for him to respond."
"Love, if he responds to you. We can all travel together to meet him."
"I definitely want to meet him. Maybe when my mom returns to the United States we can reunite them."
"Aye, I know your parents will love that." Hope wakes up crying.
"Baby."Emma holds her daughter. "Dada is on Facetime. Do you want to see Dada?" Hope babbles. Emma shows Killian on her iPhone to their daughter. "Hi, Hope."
"Aaa-ahh."
They both chuckle. "Hope, Dada misses you so much. Mommy told me that you are being such a good little lass for Mommy when she is with Grandma." Hope reaches out to hold her Mommy's iPhone. Emma got Hope sitting on her lap and helped Hope hold iPhone, she knew Hope was happy to see Killian. "Hope, dada is going to drive an airplane today." Hope babbles. "Aye, yes, you and Mommy will be riding on an airplane very soon. I will be at the gate to pick you and Mommy up." Hope babbles. "Of course, we are going to have a family snuggle together when you and Mommy arrive home." Hope fusses."Little love, you will be with Dada really soon." Emma lets Hope do tummy time on their bed. "Are you going to tell your Mom about your Dad?"
"Not yet. I want to find out more information first before telling her. Have you heard from Allison?"
"Yes, swan. Your sister and Connor have been dropping by visiting me, making sure I eat." Emma smiles. "She misses you and Hope."
"We miss Allison and Connor, too." Hope began to cry. "Hold on." She holds Hope."Hopey. Are you tired?" Hope lies on her Mommy's chest and stopped crying. Emma smiles. "You just wanted to snuggle with me?" Hope babbles. "You want to snuggle and listen to Mommy talk to Dada." She kisses her on the head.
"Emma, Hope loves snuggling with you."
"Hope has not slept in the crib in our hotel room. I think she misses her Daddy and knows that she is with me." Hope babbles. "Yes, sweetie, we will be home with Dada soon. I miss him too."
"Aa-aah."
"Yes, little love, Dada misses you,too."
"Aa-aah."
"Dada."
"Aa-aah."
"Dada."
"Aa-aah." Killian made funny faces to Hope which made her laugh. Emma smiles, loves seeing Hope and Killian, daddy-daughter relationship. "Little love, Dada has to go fly an airplane now. I know you are being a good little lass for your Mommy. I miss you so much. You have to go night-night." Hope babbles. "Love, I have to go to work."
"Okay, drive safe."
"I will swan. Get some sleep."
"I will, I am tired. Hope and I are going to go to sleep."
"Night, swan."
"Have a good day at work, Killian." Killian blew kisses to his two loves as Emma taught Hope to blow kisses to Killian. Hope grabbed her Mommy's face. Emma chuckles. They ended their Facetime call. Hope began crying. "Aa-aah....aa-aah..."
"I know, sweetie, I want to be with Dada too. We are going to see Dada very soon. A few more days in Italy on our Mommy and Hopey adventure then we will take an airplane to Dada." She hugs her daughter. "We are going home soon."
On the day they were leaving, Emma woke up extra early and made sure she had everything packed, carseat, and luggage all set up in the car while Hope was taking her nap. She wanted to go visit her Mom one more time before she and Hope fly back to New York. She carries her carryon backpack and Hope in the hospital. Hope woke up from her nap."Hi, baby girl. We are going to see Grandma before we go on an airplane." Emma sees her Mom awake and knocks on the door.
"Emma! Hope!"
"Hi, Mom." Emma enters the room with Hope. Hope wanted her grandma.
Mary-Margaret holds her granddaughter. "Hope, you are wearing footie pajamas." Hope babbles.
"Hope was fast asleep when I was packing up our hotel room and our stuff. She just woke up in the car." Hope babbles, Emma gives Hope a chew toy. "How are you feeling?"
"I am feeling much better." Allison facetime their Mom. "Hi, Allison." Allison was wearing her purple scrubs.
"Hi, Mom. Hi, Hope." Hope smiles. "Hopey, are you with Grandma and Mommy?"
"Mommy."
"Hope, auntie is on the phone?" She gave Hope a kiss on her cheek.
"Hi, little sis."
"Hi, big sis. How is work?"
"I am on my break. I wanted to check on my little sister and Mom in Italy."
"Allison, I am so happy to see you on my iPhone."
"That is why we bought you your iPhone so you can call us to talk to us."
"Mommy." Emma holds Hope who just wanted to nurse, which Emma did.
"Did your sister tell you that I am thinking of coming back to America?"
"No way!!" Allison was screaming.
"Your auntie is very happy, Hopey." Hope babbles.
"Emma, you did not tell me on our Facetime yesterday!!!"
Emma giggles. "I wanted her to tell you!!"
"Emma!!" Emma and Allison both laughed. Hope fusses.
"Sorry, sweetie." She stopped laughing.
"How are you feeling Mom?"
"I am feeling better. I am getting discharged today. When I return back to the convent,I want to start making plans moving back to America."
"Mom, you are welcome to come to my house." Hope babbles.
"Or my house!!"
Mary-Margaret laughs. "I will let you know where I can stay first."
Allison got a beeper call. "Mom, I have a patient. I will call you soon. Emma, I will see you when you get back."
"Yes, we are going to have a sleepover. We are getting back tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm EST."
"I will see you tomorrow. Mom, you can always call me."
"I will always call you both."
They ended their face time. Hope wanted to stand. Emma helped Hope stand on the bed. "You are getting stronger, baby girl. Your tummy time helps you." Hope babbles.
"Is Hope crawling?"
"Not yet but she is getting stronger in her tummy time." Hope screams. "You just want to explore."
"She just wants to play." Hope reaches out for grandma." Mary-Margaret helps Hope stand up. "You are very strong like your Mommy." Emma smiles and takes pictures of her mom and daughter playing together on her iPhone. Hope makes a lot of poop.
"Hopey." She takes Hope from her Mom. "We will be right back." She takes Hope to the bathroom and changes hope's diaper. "Mommy." She holds her daughter and checks the time. "We have to go to the airport."
"Aaa-aah."
Emma smiles at Hope knowing the airport meaning her Daddy. "We are going home to Dada."
They return to the room. "Mom, we have to leave. We have a long drive to the airport." Hope babbles.
"Come here, Hope." Emma gives Hope to her Mom. Hope hugs her grandma. "You give the best hugs, Hope." She kisses Hope on the cheek. "I love you, Hope." Hope babbles.
"Hope, it is my turn to hug grandma."
"Mommy."Emma holds her daughter. Mary-Margaret hugs Emma.
"Mom, we will see you soon. You can call Allison or me anytime."
"I will. I know that I am not alone anymore."
Emma smiles. "I have a Mom..."
"You can call me anytime to talk. I am here for you." Emma began to cry. "Hey, I am going to be in America soon. You found me. I will always be there for you."
"I am so happy that I found you. I finally have my mom in life."
"I will always be there for you." Hope babbles. "Yes, Hope. I will always be there for you, too, sweetie." She kisses Hope on the cheek.
"Mom..."
"I am in your life, Emma. I am not leaving you ever again." Emma hugs her Mom squeezing Hope.
"My two of three girls. I know we will have a girl hug with Allison."
"Definitely." Hope babbles.
"Call me or text me when you get home."
"I will. You will be home with us soon." They hug again. "Hope, we are going bye-bye."
"Hope, Grandma will see you soon." She kisses Hope on the cheek. "I know you are going to have a fun adventure with your Mommy."
Emma carries Hope back to their car and puts Hope in her car seat. "We are going to the airport." Emma got into the front seat and drove the car to the airport which was a three-hour drive from where her mother's hospital was. Emma had to make a lot of stops for Hope changing her diaper and breastfeeding her. Emma made it to the airport and returned the car she rented. She got Hope in her carrier, with her car seat and luggage together. "Hope, we are at the airport." Emma waited online for TSA. Hope was fast asleep. They went through TSA and Emma bought a few drinks, meals, and snacks for herself and baby snacks for Hope for their plane ride. When they arrived at their gate, she texted Killian that they arrived at the airport and no delays. She got a spot for Hope to move around not being in the way of other people, she laid down a blanket. Hope did tummy time. Emma watched Hope trying to crawl to her toys. She puts her Pluto doll further away from Hope."Try to get your Pluto, sweetie." Hope babbles and scoots. Emma is a proud Mommy, Hope is learning to scoot. Emma puts the doll further away and takes her iPhone out, to record Hope scooting for Killian to see. Hope scoots. "You are scooting baby girl." She knows Killian will love seeing her scoot when they return home. Emma changes Hope's diaper and outfit so Hope can be comfy on the way home at their spot. When they were in line for boarding, Hope was in her carrier, the workers took the car seat away for the flight. Hope was babbling away as they were going on the airplane until she saw a familiar face. "Aah-ahh.."
"Yes, we are going home to see Dada."
"Emma..." She sees Killian in his pilot uniform.
Emma was so surprised."Killian!!" They had a family hug and moved away from passengers. "What? How? How are you here?"
"I got my flight changed to fly you home. I missed you both so much all week. I couldn't spare another minute being away from my family." Emma kisses him.
"I missed you so much, the whole week." They hug.
"Aaa-aah."
"Dada is going to fly us home."
"Emma, Hope wants her Daddy." Killian takes Hope out of her carrier. "Little love, I missed you so much the whole week." Hope screamed with joy which made her parents laugh. "You want to help me greet passengers?" Hope babbles. "Aye, you will be my little pilot. Swan, I will bring Hope to your seat when we are done. After the flight, I am going to show Hope my captain quarters and teach her how to fly the airplane."
She kisses Killian on the cheek. "My two pilots." Killian lets her wear his hat. Emma was in awe and took pictures of them. She went to their seat which was not too far from the front of the plane.
"Can I help you with your bag?" Emma looks up and sees Ashley.
"Ashley!!" They hug and screamed.
"Killian told me about your Italy adventure about finding your Mom."
"Allison and I found our birth mother. I had to stay behind because my Mom almost hurt herself. I knew she needed her family so Hope and I extended our Italy adventure."
"You can tell me more when we are flying. I want to hear everything."
"I will tell you." Ashley helps Emma with her luggage and puts it above her. Emma sees Killian and Hope so happy reunited, he was bouncing Hope up and down and gave her kisses in between passengers. Ashley smiles. "Emma, Killian is an amazing Dad."
"Yes,he is. He loves Hope. We hated being away from him. Hope would not sleep in the crib only with me since she missed Killian."
"Aww. Hope is so cute wearing Killian's pilot hat."
"Hope is so cute."
"If you need anything in the flight, I will help you."
"Thank you."
"I am glad to help my best friend. I know you are..."
"Tired? Yes, juggling taking care of Hope and my Mom in a foreign country, that was tiring. I had to drive three hours to the airport."
"Three hours?"
"It felt like more because I had to make stops to tend to Hope."
"I know the feeling of driving alone with a baby can feel so much longer." They hug. Emma puts her backpack underneath her seat and sits down at her aisle seat and watches Killian and Hope greeting passengers at the site she absolutely loves.
When all of the passengers were in their seats. "Hope, it is time for you to go in your seat." Hope hugs her Daddy. "My little love. I missed you so much when you were having your Italy adventure with Mommy. I am going to drive us home while you sit with Mommy." He kisses Hope on the head. "Let's go find your Mommy." Killian finds Emma. "Hope, there is Mommy."
"Mommy!"
"Hi, baby girl." She takes Hope from Killian. "Did she have fun greeting passengers with you?"
"Swan, Hope had so much fun." Hope babbles. "Hope, when we land home. I will show you where I drive the airplane." Hope clapped her hands which made her parents laugh. Emma settles Hope back in her carrier and gives Killian his hat back. Killian returns to his pilot seat, Thomas his co-pilot, and Ashley's husband ready. "Was that your daughter and wife?"
"Aye, yes, Thomas."
"I heard so much from Ashley about Hope, I never met her."
"Aye, once I became her Daddy she changed Emma and me forever." Emma got Hope settled and ready for takeoff. Killian turns on the microphone "Hello, passengers, this is Captain Killian speaking..." He hears laughing and awing know it was his little lass. "Aaa-ahh."
"Yes, Hope that is Dada. He is going to drive our plane to our home."
Killian smiles. "We are almost ready for takeoff. Stay in your seats and enjoy your flight back to New York." Killian and his co-pilot drove the plane to the runaway. Emma got Hope to eat from a bottle as they were on the runway. Killian drove the plane up in the sky. "We are in the air baby girl, Dada is taking us home." She kisses Hope on the head. "The last time, I was riding on an airplane while Daddy was driving was when I found I was pregnant with you. That was the day I found out you were growing inside my belly and going to be your Mommy. When Dada landed in England, I went to his captain quarters and told him you were coming and be a Daddy." She hugs her daughter and enjoys her snuggles with Hope. She really missed being a flight attendant and working with Killian but she loves being a Mommy to their daughter which she always wanted a family. <i>"You are my sunshine, My only sunshine,You make me happy,When sky's are grey, You'll never know, dear, How much I love you, Please don't take my sunshine away."</I> Hope smiles, Emma smiles back at her daughter. Hope falls asleep on her Mommy, Emma ate her lunch and nursed Hope when she was hungry. "You are being such a good girl.I know why because Dada is driving us home." Hope smiles. "Me too. Dada drives airplanes the best." Hope fusses. "You want a story?" She takes <i>The Ugly Duckling </i> from her backpack and read Hope the book, more than once. When Ashely and the other flight attendants were passing out snacks. "Emma, what drink do you need?"
"Sprite."
"Coming right up." hope babbles. "Hope, you are being such a good girl on your flight home from Italy." Hope smiles. She gives Emma her drink. "I will be back to talk later." Hope wanted to move around. "Aaa-ahh."
"Dada is driving the plane sweetie. Like a car, but we are in the air, he cannot stop the plane." She lifts Hope up and down making Hope laugh. She sets Hope back down on her lap and begins tickling her. Hope was squealing. Emma smiles and loves making her daughter happy. When Hope napped in her carrier, Emma read <i>Elena Ferrante series</i> and napped until Hope poop smell woke her up. "Whoa...Emma takes Hope to the bathroom and changes her diaper. Ashley was waiting for her. "How are you doing?"
"I am doing pretty good. Hope is being such a good girl for this flight. I am getting some rest."
"I can watch her for a little bit? Please."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am free."
"Okay. Hope, Ashley wants to play with you." She gives Hope to Ashley. Emma goes back to her seat seeing her best friend playing with Hope." Emma sits down in her seat and takes a very needed nap while she can. She wakes up a little while later to Hope crying and sees Hope being carried by Ashley. "Hopey." Ashley gave Emma back her daughter. "Did you have fun with Ashley?" Hope stopped crying in her Mommy's arms. "Emma, Hope had fun until Hope wanted you."
"Besides Hope's crying did she give you any trouble?"
"Not really. She is so cute. She enjoyed being tickled and lifted up and down." Hope began to cry. "Are you hungry for your snack?"
"I can hold her." Ashley holds Hope as Emma gets her backpack with a bag of snacks, and got out baby puffs. "Wow, Emma. You are a Mommy just seeing how organized you are with Hope's snacks." She puts Hope back with Emma.
Emma hand feeds baby puffs."Thank you. Most of my backpack is full of Hope's diaper needs, snacks, and her baby blanket and a few of her toys. I have one book and my other needs in a pouch." Hope gripped her Mommy's hand. "We had a great Mommy and Hope adventure right sweetie?" Hope smiles. Ashley returns to her seat, Emma sings to Hope a few more songs, numbers and the alphabet very quietly facing her daughter since other passengers were mostly sleeping around them. Hope and Emma fell asleep for the rest of the hours of their flight. Killian was approaching New York City, "Attention passengers, this is your Captain speaking. We are over New York. Everyone needs to stay seated while flight attendants get ready for landing. Emma woke up when she heard Killian speaking. "We are almost home, Hope." Killian landed on the runway safely and smoothly. "Everyone, we have arrived in New York City. It is 2:00' clock in the afternoon. I hope everyone enjoyed their flight." Emma was getting ready to get off the plane, hope woke up crying. "Hopey, we are going to Dada....Dada. I know you are really tired." Ashley helps Emma get her luggage down. "Thank you, Ashley."
"You are welcome, I know the feeling you need more than two hands."
Emma laughs. "I feel like that now. Hope just wants to be held."
"I will help you." Emma waited as the rest of the passengers were off the plane. Killian and Thomas said goodbye to the passengers. He arrived where Emma and Hope were with Ashley. "Hi, Emma."
"Hi, Killian." hope cried more.
"Little love." He holds his little lass. "Did you have a good flight with Mommy?" Hope hugs her daddy. "She had a very good flight, captain."
"Aye, I heard her calling out for me when I was on speaker."
Emma chuckles. " She was very excited that her Daddy was driving her home. Now she is just very tired. She just woken up from her nap."
"Aye, Hope just wants to snuggle. He carries Hope to the front of the plane. "Hope, you want to see where Dada drives the airplane?" Hope smiles. He brings Hope into his captain quarters. "This is where I drive the plane little love." He sits on his chair with Hope in his lap showing her all of the buttons, controls, the steering wheel. Emma took pictures. Hope gripped the steering wheel. "That is it, little pilot." He lets Hope wear his pilot hat. Ashley returns to the family with her car seat. "Emma, I can take pictures." Killian turns his chair around facing Ashley. She gave Ashley her iPhone. "Mommy." Emma kisses Hope on the cheek. Ashley took pictures of the Swan-Jones family. As the family went off the plane, Hope was crying. Killian was holding her as Emma wheeled the luggage and car seat. "Hope we had to get off the plane, little love. You can come on my plane anytime." Hope hugs her Daddy. When Emma arrived at their gate she sees her sister, Connor, and Ted. "Allison!!"
"Emma!!" They run and hug. "I am so happy you are back."
"I am so happy to be home!"
"Where is Hope?"
"With Killian."
"Killian?"
"Hi, Allison. Little love, we are back with Auntie Allison."
"No way! Killian was the pilot on your plane?"
Emma smiles. "Yes, Hope saw Killian before me." Hope babbles.
"Hi, Hope. Are you happy that Dada drove the plane?" Hope babbles. "Yes!" Emma holds Connor. "Hi, little man. Ted, how is he with his jetlag?"
"It has been over a week, we are still adjusting to the time difference."
"I am afraid of that with Hope since we were in Italy longer."
"How was she on this flight?"
"She did very well. She was happy."
"That is because Killian was the pilot."
Emma laughs. Allison hugs her sister. "Big sis." Emma hugs Allison back. Hope was crying.Emma holds Hope. "Hopey, are you tired? I am very tired."
"Swan, you have all of your luggage?"
"Yes, they were my carry-ons. I know you are tired too."
"Love, let's go home."
"Music to my ears."
"Emma, Connor and I will come over soon."
"Yes, I need to catch up with my big sis. Also, I know Hope miss playing with her cousin."
"We will come over in a few days. If you need anything call me."
"Thank you, Allison." They hug. Killian carried their luggage while Emma carried Hope to their car. Killian drove his family home. They entered inside. "Home sweet home."
"Aye, we are all home." They kiss. "We all need a nap."
"Yes, together." Emma took a shower and Hope changed into pajamas while Killian ran a load of laundry. Killian and Emam snuggled together with Hope in their bed. Emma instantly fell asleep in Killian's arms. He watched his two loves sleep. "I am so happy my family is home."
