Poem #8

Unheard Stories.

---------------------------------------------

I am just another unheard soul here to tell a story...

of a young girl who left the world on a thread so gory.

So just hear me out, I won't bother you again.

My voice has no effect in this world, so I'm saying this in pen:

The words you speak withhold such power.

They build and accumulate into an interminable tower.

You speak your mind, what you feel is the most entertaining in the generation of your youth.

You speak and speak with no idea of the actual truth.

Wasting your time, the minutes have elapsed.

Having no realization the tower has collapsed.

You continue to harvest, fresh appealing lies.

People buy them and dissolve they do inside.

There was once a girl that had an undefiled life.

Little did she know her best friend would later be a knife.

She never knew that she would be bestowed such a curse.

But 1 little picture speaks a thousand words.

She got taunted everyday, by those who've awaited the moment.

She sighed and continued until bit by bit her heart couldn't handle the torment.

So she closed off her curtains hidden from sight .

She shielded herself in the darkness of that artificial night.

She never came out, and no one cared to check.

They told her to hang in there and so she did with a rope around her neck.

The pain began to ease, the visions began to blur, the sounds started to fade until there was no more.

The eyelids fluttered their last blinks, she choked on her last miserable breaths.

She listened to the dead static until her body was all that was left.

What a few silent pleas couldn't ever shush,

three letters on a grave made them hush.

How does it feel at the funeral, looking upon that soulless body,

knowing that you were the one in charge of that corpse's party?

Hanging there loosely on that rough vine, was yet another suicide victim charged by your verbal crime.

The next time you speak just think it through, what could occur because of

Y-O-U.

Note:

Words have a huge impact in a person's life, your *jokes* might even contain a hint of truth within them. You should always be careful, you never know what's going on in someone  else's life, for all you know that person has had enough and your word is all it can take to give someone a silly idea a.k.a suicide? And to all of those who've known someone that have commited suicide you are the person telling the story, you can do something to help. Your words which can destroy, they can also heal. Use them to do the right thing.  Thank-you so much for reading my poem, it means a lot!
