Chop Chop Ninjas Meet A Samurai Group

Chapter 17: In Charge

Takeda's POV:

"Ahem, ready?" Master Enoki asked us the ninjas.

Then, I see Tetsuo running towards a boulder and smashing into smaller rocks. The rocks landed in a sophisticated circle inside the boundary.

"Zen stones!" Tetsuo said.

"Oh yeah?" Jo asked as she carried some bonsai.

Then she threw them up and kicked them into three potholes.

"Zen plants!" Jo added. Then Neeko was in front of a log and carved it into an image of Master Enoki.

"Zen-tastic!" Neeko said.

Not going to lie, that was clever. Then it's now Iro's turn.

"Chop Chop Ninja!" he said as he landed his staff in the centre of the garden and he spun around. This made some sophisticated lines in the centre.

"Oh yeah! Now that's some zen sands!" Iro said.

"Great work, ninjas! The zen garden is nearly complete" Master Enoki said.

That was impressive of their teamwork.

"While I run into town and fetch the glorious centrepiece, Iro you can-".

Master Enoki was cut off by Iro by taking his scroll and saying "Be in charge? Challenge accepted! Tetsuo you're on stones; Neeko, sparkly stuff; Jo, shrubbery. As for the samurai,".

Master Enoki cut him off and said "Iro, a wise K9 guru once said, the dog who listens leads, the one who barks only gets growls in return".

That seems about right.

"Yep! Uh, catch more dogs and fleas or something" Iro replied.

His guesses are so far off.

"Let's go Chop Chops! We're burning daylight here!" he told us.

"Learning through failure, excellent choice, Iro" Master Enoki said.

Me and the others were smiling because it was his choice.

Master Enoki then went out and Iro said in confusion "What?".

Iro was inspecting the shrubbery while I was helping Jo with it.

"Too shrubby, too green, this one has way too many leaves" Iro said as he went down the line.

"Come on, ninjas. You're better than this!" Iro scolded us.

Neeko groaned and said "Are you done, Iro?".

We were all tired of his poor leadership.

"Of course not. We got a million things to do. Look at this list!".

To my surprise he showed the scroll to us and it had several pages attached to it. It was unusual because scrolls only have one page.

"Wasn't that list just one page like a second ago?" Tetsuo asked.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed.

"A great leader takes initiative" Iro said.

"Whoever said you're a great leader?" I asked.

"Not me because I want to be the greatest leader!" Iro replied.

Then he walked off.

"This is gonna be a loooong day" Jo said.

"Sure will be..." I replied.

Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen?
