My sneakers, my mate
From the time i left
My house's threshold
Where lived the ones
Whom I loved and cherished
But for my studies
It had to be forgotten
But my sneakers were with me
In all my battles against time
To give me a headstart
In winning those races
Which had immense competition
Till today they are with me
When I've achieved success
But now smaller than my size
But though they are torn
Though they are rough
I don't want to give them
To those who do not
Deserve it's prized company
