Disco or disco music a genre of dance music derived from rhythm and blues that mixed elements of previous genres, such as souly funk, with Latin touches in many cases, and which became popular in party halls (discos) in the  second half of the 1970s.
In 1974, disco music was an underground phenomenon, but only 3 years later, everyone danced with John Travolta.  Although disco music was one of the most prominent popular musical phenomena of the 70s, he never received the credit he deserved.

Nightclubs: Nightclubs were born in occupied Paris during World War II.  The Nazis banned jazz and dance clubs, so people went to illegal venues to listen and dance recorded music.  One of those illegal clubs, located on Rue Hachette, was calledh "La discothèque".  Later Paul Pacine opened the club "Whiskey a Go-Go", where people danced discs punctuated by disc jockeys.  These clubs were evolving and spreading throughout Europe in the following years.
