Flamenco is a Spanish musical genre that has its origin in the region of Andalusia, in areas of Extremadura and also in the Region of Murcia. Its main facets are singing, touching and dancing, also having its own traditions and norms. Flamenco is not folklore.
Flamenco is an artistic expression born from the mixture of many cultures: Arabic, Jewish, gypsy (who arrived in Spain in the fifteenth century and many stayed in Andalusia). And with the Andalusian culture.
From that cultural hodgepodge that occurred in Andalusia, Flamenco emerged.
