1 muthafucking month later

Amora
Tuesday

"Jackie, you're too much." I laughed hiding my face behind my clipboard. "Happy one month!" Jackie stood on the other side of the front desk. She had bought me a cupcake with a number 1 candle on top. "Thank you," I said coming over to her.

"Sorry the candle isn't lit, fire upsets some of the patients." Jackie chuckled while I took the candle out licking the frosting off the bottom. "Enjoy the rest of your day." Jackie kissed my cheek before walking to the elevator.

It's official, I've been working here for one month and not much has changed. I get paid well so I can't complain in that department. But all y'all ready for the bad news?

Blythe can't leave even if she did have a date, she has nowhere else to go unless a family member of hers volunteers. Yeah, she's old enough to live on her own but we need to make sure she's not on the streets. Blythe and I haven't really been talking lately, ever since I told her she can't leave.

I've been pulling strings for her and she's been showing progress but I feel like that's all gonna go down the drain. I got her hopes up over nothing, or that's what she thinks ;)

"Hey," I said plainly as Blythe came out the tv center. "Mhm." She responded going right back in. When I go for her check-ins she doesn't even look at me. I just let Jackie do them for me.

I sighed hiding my face, I sat back up due to a disrupting crash. I'm honestly not surprised, you leave the patients in the tv center for five seconds and they're doing some fuck shit.

I stood aghast at the sight of Blythe terrorizing the tv center, she had flipped over the tables, punched a hole in the wall and ripped off the 'Smile' poster. I hated that thing anyways.

I grabbed Blythes' hand, making her sigh, it was a sigh of relief. I took her to the padded room and closed the door behind me. "Look, I'm sorry you can't leave but th-."

She shut me up with a hug wrapping both arms around my waist. "I missed you," Blythe said hugging me tighter than before. I smiled wrapping my arms around her neck, would I be wrong for saying this is the highlight of my day?

We let each other go only for her to admire me. "Happy one month, beautiful." She said pinching my cheek.

"I have good news." I took both her hands in mine. "Since you have a date and all you need is a place to stay, I decided you can come live with me ." I couldn't help but smile.

It's a big decision, yes I'm aware but I rather her living with me than waking up in this place every day. "Amora, I can't live with you." Blythe pulled her hands away taking a few steps back. "It's not up for discussion." I'm standing my ground this time. "It's either yes or yes because no isn't an answer." I wouldn't care if she said no because I don't listen.

"For some strange reason, I can't say no to you." She chuckled grabbing me yet again.  This is what victory feels like.

"I'd like to go outside please." Blythe held me as I nodded my head, I unlocked the padded room door and quietly made our way outside. I smiled while she held me from behind. We usually go outside twice a week with all the other patients but it's just Blythe and me right now.

"No more straitjacket, no more padded room, you're living the life." I joked walking to the river with her. "You think I'm living the life in an asylum?" Blythe let me go and I instantly regret what I said.

"I didn't mean it like that." I bit my bottom lip as she shook her head. "I'm just playing with you." She chuckled taking my hand and kissing it.

I looked away from her while my cheeks burned, this never happens me. Blythe always makes me blush but this time it's bad, and she always gives me butterflies and it's such a bittersweet feeling because I don't know exactly what I'm feeling towards her but yet again I do.

Blythe

"I teach you how to make bracelets and all of a sudden you think you better than me," I said sitting next to Amora. "You bet."

"Listen, I appreciate all you've done for me but we gotta have a serious talk." I sat up straight while Amora lifted her head off my shoulder. "I'm all ears." Amora smiled.

"You've been working here for a long time and now you're bringing me into your home. I don't know if you feel the same but I know how I feel about you, I like you. I know it sounds weird that I'm even capable of feeling that way towards anybody but it's true and I like you a lot." I couldn't look her in the eyes because I've never done this before.

If anything I used to think it would be Jackie and I messing around. Now when Jackie comes for check-ins all I do is think about Amora.

"Since we being serious, I think it's time I tell you how I feel about you. I like you too, you give me this weird feeling in my stomach and I always smile when I'm with you. Sometimes I just want to take you home but I'd lose my job if I did." Amora explained loud and clear, I looked her in the eyes while both of us smiled.

My release date is next Monday and I gotta be on my best behavior until then. I'm just glad I got this off my chest and Amora feels the same, I haven't been in a relationship in a while.

"I gotta clock out." Amora stood up dusting the dirt off the back of her pants. "See you tomorrow." I took her hand standing up. We held hands all the way back to the asylum without saying a word to each other.

"Does this mean we're in a relationship?" Amora asked holding the door open for me, I shrugged stepping inside. "Haven't done this in a long time." It's true I killed my last girlfriend In case you forgot. "I would hope we are," I added in.

"We're to grown to be playin like this, you're my girlfriend end of discussion."

It gets so boring when Amora leaves because all the other patients go back to their rooms. "I'll see you tomorrow, beautiful." I kissed her cheek then waved her off goodbye.

Who would've thought my next girlfriend would be in an asylum?
