Chapter 23

Jade's POV

Friday when I dropped Vega off at her place, she seemed completely out of it. I recognized that face she was making, a thinking face, but what could she possibly be thinking about? I knew I was hard to read, but Vega's a piece of work, I couldn't seem to figure her out... I had to admit she was almost a good actress as I was, but I was better. How else was I gonna hide that I was crushing on her

Just the fact that I'm gay, or at least bi, knocked me off my feet. I guess I already knew, I always did have a softer spot for girls. What shocked me the most was me falling for Vega, of all people. She was supposed to be my enemy, I was supposed to hate her, and she was supposed to hate me; things don't go the way you want them to. I knew I didn't hate her, and she didn't hate me, but she didn't love me either. She tolerated me and I had to change that.

That's why I was looking for Cat as soon as got out of my car in the school parking lot. I checked the lunch area, but she wasn't there. Not at her locker either. Maybe she was even there yet. I just needed to drive something by her, so I waited for her at my locker.

From the corner of my eye I saw Tori coming up to me; one look at her and I just melted

"Hey Jade" said my overly polite girlfriend

She didn't seem at all weird today, but last week she was, what changed?

"Vega" I answered

"So I was wondering, would you mind coming to dinner tonight? My parents want to officially meet you" she asked

"They've met me" I said opening my locker to look like I was busy and not just hopelessly staring at her

"Yeah, but they wanna meet you as my girlfriend" she stated

My reaction: Shit!

I had always been a bitch to Vega when we weren't dating, and I was pretty sure her folks had their opinion of me

"I doubt that"

"Please Jade" she begged looking at me expectantly with those big brown puppy dog eyes

"Don't make that face Tori" I warned pointing my finger at her

She was driving me completely nuts with her cuteness, and I was pissed at myself for actually falling for it

"C'mon Jade" she said again, grabbing my hands for emphasis "We're friends now, we're at a good place, and we're completely selling this relationship. Might as well just do the whole "parent meets the girlfriend" bit"

Vega's soft touch sent chills up my spine and I had the urge to kiss her. Of course I wanted to meet her parent as her girlfriend... I liked Vega, and maybe they could get a better first impression of me, for future reference if said girl ever decided to fall for me as well

"The hell with it" I smiled

"Thanks Jade! I gotta go to class all the way across campus" she said pecking my lips and running off to wherever her class was

I was left there standing, as cheesy as it sounds, holding my fingers to my lips, feeling the tingling sensation from the simple kiss.

I snapped out of it when I spotted Cat by Beck's locker

"Cat!" I yelled, making her look my way "I need to talk to you!"

She met me half way and I grabbed her wrist, dragging her away from the middle of the hallway

"Tori just asked me to dinner" I started

"Yay!" she yelled in her usual happy voice throwing her hands up in the air
