"Father's Day!" by Summer Cheng
Father's Day is a holiday ,
given as an excuse to honor,
your father,
though really you should do,
this no matter what anyway!
A father is one who loves you,
takes care of you,
teaches you,
many things,
which include,
how to be kind,
instead of rude,
to those around you!
I am so blessed,
to have a loving,
earthly father,
and a husband,
who is a good,
father to our son!
I know not everyone,
has the sort of dad,
who makes them glad,
to celebrate Father's Day,
to give them a hug,
or say I love you!
I also know there is a Father,
who is even better,
than all the earthly dad's out there,
he loves us,
he tenderly takes care of his own,
he forgives them,
and he wants more,
to know him as their very own,
Yes, there is a Father,
up above,
who looks down in love,
one who sent his only Son,
to die on the cross for our sin,
one who saw his Son,
Jesus die,
he saw he be buried,
and he saw him rise again!
Yes, there is a Father,
unlike any other,
who cares for those,
near and far,
no matter who they are,
no matter what they have said,
or done,
He loves each and everyone!
So, this Father's Day,
what more can I say?
Hope it is one blessed day,
for you rather,
it is true,
that you have a good earthly dad,
or not,
because you have a Heavenly Father,
who cares deeply about you!
Happy Father's Day,
to my dad,
to my husband,
the father of my son,
to all the father's out there,
who really care about their children,
but most of all,
Happy Father's Day to my Heavenly Father,
the best one ever!
