  "candy bAr   poem"

    by Summer Cheng

     It is ooey,

     it is gooey,

     chocolate,

      with a crunch,

       oh, I have a hunch:

       it  is such  a good,

       food!

     It has two parts,

    both in stick shapes,

    both have caramel,

     intertwined within them,

oh can you not taste it?

Can you not see it now?

     With its  golden wrapper,

    with red and white words,

    in bold,

or so I have been told!

     It is here,

     it  is there,

    it is almost everywhere,

    in  any store,

   right before,

    your eyes,

   oh, what a surprise!

    It   is  one,

    unique thing,

   without any string,

it   is  a favorite of mine,

    so  what on earth,

    could it be?

    My friend,

    have you found out,

what it is that I talk about?

     It  is small,

    it is not big,

   at all,

   yet it seems to call,

    my name,

    just the same.

   It sits there,

   on the shelf,

  in the store,

  at the counter,

   where I can reach it:

   and it mocks me,

   as if to say,

 come eat me today!

 It is one awesome food,

  so do not be crude,

  or rude,

   as you try,

   to  find out,

   what it  is,

     that I describe here,

for you as I give forth a cheer,

     in this new year!

    It is a special food,

   it does not come alone,

   it   has a friend,

  with it,

  and as I sink,

  my teeth right in,

   I begin:

  to wonder,

if you will ever figure it out,

what it is I talk about?

Well, until we meet again,

 my friend,

  have fun,

 under the sun,

  as you try to guess,

which one I put to the test,

   as  I  eat,

  this tasty treat!
