"In Memory of you, Brother..."  by Summer Cheng

"In memory of Blake my brother, If I could hug you again, I would,

If I could call you, text you or email, I would,

However, I cannot, because you are in heaven,

and I on earth,

but as I shed a tear or two,

I can tell God is still here with me,

as he is up there with you.

He promises me,

Someday I will see you again,

Until then,

I have twenty-four years of memories,

which is all,

I can have,

so today,

as hard

as it is,

I intend,

to be kind to others.

show them compassion,

and love them,

as I know God wants me too.

I miss you,

I miss your smile,

your laugh,

your teasing me about my zits,

your funny way you eat your rice,

with peas, Texas Pete sauce, and loads of other odd things,

   I miss your presence,

    I miss your scowl,

when I sneak a photo of you,

and the way mom and dad,

smile when they see you enter the room,

       I miss you,

      my brother,

and  now it has been eight years,

       since you went away,

      to be with Jesus!

     I remember the time,

you put mud on your face,

   and played Indians with me,

   as kids,

the time we went to the beach,

   and you buried jellyfishes,

   so one would get stung,

   which was so kind,

     and I remember,

     the time you,

   told a great aunt,

she was a good cook for an old woman,

and she just begin to laugh,

      I remember  that you wore,

your red bed room slippers to work at Chickfila,

     by accident one time,

   and when you told mom,

    she begin to laugh ,

but brought you your work shoes anyway,

     I remember you,

     yes I do,

  for you are my brother,

    I love you.

   I miss you,

   It is June 11, 2019,

   and well, on this day,

   June 11, 2011,

   was the day you died,

and  I remember how on that day,

    I cried and cried.

      I miss you,

    and yet, I know you

    are happy now,

   in heaven,

     so have a great day,

     with Jesus!
