"Happy Belated Siblings Day" by Summer Cheng
For those who do not know,
Yesterday was another,
Happy Siblings Day,
only for me it was just,
a sad reminder,
that my only sibling:
is out of my reach!
My only sibling,
My younger brother,
who was kind,
and like none other,
is not here:
anymore,
he is heaven
as he has been,
for the last almost,
eight years.
So, to my one and only,
I miss you:
every year on the basic,
holidays like Easter,
Thanksgiving and Christmas,
on your birthday,
on the anniversary of the day,
you died,
June 11th,
and on National Siblings Day,
too!
Things are just not the same,
without you,
I have no sibling,
to take a photo with,
to smile with,
or even hug,
I know you are safe,
up above,
in heaven,
but still,
that does not
change,
the fact,
there is a lack,
of the one,
who could have made National Sibling's Day,
Fun!
So, to all my brothers,
and sisters in Christ,
thank you once,
thank you twice,
for all the things:
you have done for me,
and continue to do,
for with you,
to support me,
even the bad days,
like National Siblings Day,
seem a little less sad,
and make me feel a bit,
glad.
It is for you,
I put forth a cheer,
Happy Belated Siblings Day,
to my spiritual family,
thanks for the love,
you show to me,
and my family,
ever so much!
You will never know,
how much you truly:
mean to me!
