Chapter 15

“Harry” I said shocked

“Hi” I said giving me a cheeky grin and a little wave

“What are you doing here?” I said looking down at Coleton, sitting on my lap, playing with a toy cell phone.

“Well the apartment was getting lonely. And Alyssa was busy this week, and the other guys went home, so I decided that before I went home I would pay a surprise visit to Louis” he said. “And you of course” he added with another one of his cheeky smiles.

It fell into an awkward silence.

“Well I have some homework to do. So we will be in my room. Thanks for watching him today Lou” I said picking up Cole.

“No problem. Mom’s out right now bringing some dinner home for us, so we are probably eating with in the hour.” Louis said

I nodded then walked into my room.

I was typing a paper with Coleton on my lap. He kept squirming, trying to get down, but I couldn’t let him. Now that he was starting to walk he would get into everything. I couldn’t take my eyes off him for more than 2 seconds.

“Mummy” he babbled trying to get out of my grasp and onto the floor.

“One second. Please let me finish this sentence” I said even though I knew he didn’t really understand what I said.

“Mummy!” he whined again.

I tried to finish the one sentence, but he started whining again and squirming even more. I closed my lap top taking it into my arm and picked up Cole with my other.

When I got downstairs I saw Louis and Harry watching football.

“Do you mind if he plays in here? I’ll keep him quiet. I just really need to finish my paper and he wont sit still in my room. If he’s in here with a bunch of toys he will be fine” I asked Louis, knowing how he usually likes he room quiet while watching any sport on TV.

“Yeah no problem, games almost over” he said not taking his eyes off the TV.

Cole was playing with some blocks next to me as I typed sitting on the floor.

15 minutes later, I was not much rather in my paper when Coleton got up and held onto my shoulder. “Pay Mummy” he said holding up some on his blocks.

“Sweetie Mummys busy right now, after dinner I will” I told him,

I felt bad. I usually had time to play with Coleton but with finals coming up soon my school work was really piling up.

I could feel Cole’s hand leave my shoulder. Looking up I saw that Louis had Cole in his arms holding him like superman. “Look its SuperCole” Louis said in an announce voice.

He then put him down and started playing with him. “The games over, we aren’t doing anything. So if you want to finish your paper you can. We can watch him” Louis said

I started to tell him that he didn’t have to do that, but he wouldn’t hear it.

After dinner I had put Cole to sleep, he had fallen asleep in his highchair at dinner.

My mom, Louis, Harry, and I were all sitting at the table talking.

“So Leah, are you excited for your date with Zayn tomorrow?” Louis asked moving his eyebrows up and down.

I blushed and said “yeah”

“Louis you are embarrassing her!” my mom said laughing. That didn’t help, I only blushed more as Harry and Louis joined in laughing.

“Oh and Leah, I can watch Coleton tomorrow, I don’t have work. That way Louis can sleep in one day, we all know how he gets cranky” she joked

“So Harry how long are you staying?” I asked after thanking my mom

“Probably just until tomorrow, I told my mom I had a few days off, so I have to go visit her” he answered

“Alright children, Well I’m off to bed. And Harry feel free to stay as long as you want” My mom said kissing us each before she went upstairs. Even Harry, she loved all the boys and she treated them like family when she would go up and see Louis.

…

I was woken up by cry’s in the middle of the night. I jumped out of bed and ran into Coleton’s room to check on him.

He was laying there crying, with tears streaming down his red face. I picked him up, rubbing his back trying to sooth him. After a few minutes his crying still hadn’t stopped. I looked over at the clock, it read 4:32 AM.

I laid him on the changing table and changed his diaper, hoping that that would calm him down. It didn’t, he kept on crying.

I placed my hand on his forehead, feeling his warm skin. I picked him up and walked down stairs as he pushed his little head against my chest and cried into it.

I noticed Harry asleep on the couch and the TV still on. I rushed passed him and into the kitchen, trying not to wake him up.

Keeping Cole in my hands I reached into the medicine cabinet and took his temperature. He had a fever, but nothing serious, but it explained why he was crying and up at this hour.

I got a sippy cup and put some juice in it for Coleton, Sitting down in the kitchen; I laid him across my arms and gave him the juice, which stopped the crying.

Harry walked in and rubbed his eyes “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to wake up.” I apologized.

“It’s fine. I was thirsty anyway” he said taking water from the fridge. And taking a seat at the table.

It got silent, again.

“I think its incredible” Harry said randomly

“Huh?” I said looking at him

He pointed to Cole. “Louis told me yesterday. He was just sitting in the living room, playing with him when I came over. I was surprised at first, you know because he never said anything about having a nephew. He said that you two had a falling out, but you guys are getting past that now. But I think its incredible that you gave up everything for him.” Harry told me.

“I didn’t know Louis was gonna tell you about that” I said shyly. I hated thinking about what I had to give up. I don’t regret it because I have Cole and I would never want him to think I didn’t want him, but sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I hadn’t given up everything.

“He told me how proud he is of you. He actually got quiet upset when we were talking about it. I think he said that being here with you now made him realize how tough everything has been”

I took a deep breath, taking it all in. “Its been hard but I manage” I told Harry

“Well from what I heard, Stan is an idiot. If Coleton was my kid I would spend time with him, hes adorable”

I laughed “Thanks. Maybe one day Stan will make an effort” I said looking down at Coleton to realize he was asleep.

“Harry can I ask you something?”

“Sure, what is it?”

“How do you think Zayn is gonna react, we aren’t serious yet but I’m gonna have to tell him soon”

Harry was quiet for a few minutes then said. “I think that at first hes just going to be shocked. I mean I had no clue because like there were never any hints from Louis or you. I don’t think he will be mad, but its hard to tell because he can be quiet about his emotions. But I can tell you for sure that the best way to talk to him is to get him to listen. Sit him down and tell him, don’t like hold anything back, he hates liars” he cleared his throat and said “I think that Zayn will surprise you,  he’s really understanding, and he seems to really like you. I’ve head it from him and Alyssa.” He smiled

“Thank you Harry, for talk to me. Well he finally fell back asleep so I’m gonna try to fall back before I have to get up for school” I told him walking out of the kitchen
