renjun and donghyuck smile to the sweet driver and head inside.
"so, we need to walk in talking to each other so it looks like we've gotten close."
"okay."
as they walk into the entrance they talk to each other about literal nonsense.
"so.... cats are cute."
"me too."
"hey! over here!" they see marks tiny little hand waving them over.
"i didn't know you two were gonna come together haha."
"yeah! we were messaging a lot afterwards just catching up and turns out we have a loooot in common." donghyuck makes sure to emphasize the "a lot".
"oh chill. that means we're gonna all get along great." mark smiles at both of them.
a tall boy with dark hair comes up to their table.
"sup mark, donghyuck. who's this?"
"this is our friend haechan."
"cool. what y'all want."
"you're so rude! at least introduce yourself" mark decides to scold the boy.
"oh i'm soooo sorry! i'm johnny and i'm friends with these two for some reason. i own this cafe and they come here to get free stuff off of me cause they know how nice i am."
renjun laughs at him and gives him a firm handshake.
"i'm haechan and i've known them for a bit we're just getting reconnected really."
"alrighty then, what can i get y'all though..?"
they place their orders and begin talking.
during their conversation donghyuck and renjun made sure to try and drift off into their own little talk, not to necessarily leave mark out just to sell the whole "we've gotten close" act.

"today was really fun! we should all hang out together again sometime." renjun says as soon as they walk outside.
"yeah of course!"
mark stands there for a moment before replying with a simple "sure."
donghyucks brain is going nuts right now.
is he jealous?
did he care?
a car pulls up with two boys in the back.
"okay well i'm off first, bye guys!" renjun waddles to the car.
donghyuck and mark both wave towards the car until it's out of view.
they walk over to some chairs outside the cafe and sit down.
"bro haechan is literally so cool! he's so sweet and his love for his bestfriends is adorable!"
"i mean... literally all he was talking about was them are you like that with me?"
orrrr he doesn't care at all. cool.
"yeah i tend to talk about you a lot. you just come up out of nowhere."
"you two were talking a lot though. sometimes even i was getting left out haha"
"sorry! haechans just really chill overall and a lil cute honestly."
mark looks over at donghyuck.
"cute?" he pauses for a moment.
"does donghyuck have a lil crush?"
donghyuck slaps marks arm.
"bro come on i'm just saying he's chill!"
"he's chill and also cute." mark corrects.
donghyuck doesn't know how to reply to that.
a slight awkward silence begins.
"well... i'm actually catching a ride home with johnny when he leaves so i'll see you at school tomorrow yeah?" mark stands up as he talks.
"alright cool. bye nerd."
he waits until mark walks inside to let out a long sigh.
"i don't think it worked..."
