We had continued walking for a while now and the pain in my ankle was getting worse with every step I took. I looked up to the sky, trying to keep my mind off the pain and noticed that the clouds were very dark. Rain. I hope we get to alisa's place soon, I don't think I can continue for much longer and we can't afford to get wet with no change of clothes.

Alisa turned to face me and Wen, "not much longer now." I let out a shaky breath and smiled, continuing to limp behind them. Wen noticed and grabbed my arm, placing it around her shoulder and holding my hand while wrapping her other arm around my waist. "thanks." I smiled at Wen as we continued to walk.

Not too long later we came to what looked like a little wooden cabin. Is this the safe house she was talking about? Because if it is, this was a waste of time. Confused, we continued to walk round to the back of the cabin where there were a set of doors that looked like they led down into a sort of bunker.

Alisa whistled and Rex came bursting through some bushes and wondered up to her. She grabbed his collar and pulled a key from inside a small locket that was placed on his collar and turned to face the doors. She crouched down and unlocked the huge pad lock that held the doors closed and pulled one of the doors open.

"Ladies first." I let out a small laugh at Alisa's joke and watched Wen step in through the doors, she turned around and offered a hand to help me get down the small amount of stairs without harming my ankle further. I grabbed her hand and hopped down the stairs the best I could. I jumped off the last step and turned around to be faced with a very dark hallway.

I stepped back and placed my back against the wall, allowing Alisa's dog to jump in. I watched as he ran down the pitch black hallway without any hesitation at all. Alisa squeezed passed me and Wen and walked down the hallway, I looked at Wen and shrugged. She didn't think anything of it so we followed alias down the hallway.

Alisa sped in front of us because I couldn't walk very fast. We walked into a huge room where Alisa was lighting a few candles to brighten the room, so we could see everything.

I was completely shocked by what I saw! The walls were covered in all the weapons you could ever need, boxes of ammo piled in the corner of the room and boxes of food in the other. "How do you have all of this stuff?" I asked, looking at all the different foods. "This is a war bunker, so most of the foods were in here already and I was once part of the Special Forces, so I had my ways of getting hold of these weapons long before the apocalypse happened." With that she walked into the next room, leaving Wen and I alone.

Wen helped me sit down, with my back leaning on a box of food. I smiled and watched Alisa walk back in with an ice bag and a new bandage. I took my shoe off, replaced the bandage and sat the ice bag on my ankle. I sighed in relief as the pain started to fade and with that I fell into a deep sleep in which I wish I never had.

I was running, running from everything and anything. They were chasing me, all of them, everyone that had died because of me. My lungs were burning from lack of air and I knew that I was going to have to stop soon, but I continued to run because if I did stop, it would be the end.

I tripped over a tree root in the ground and fell onto my knees; I let out a small cry and struggled to get onto my feet again. I took a quick glace behind me to see if they were still chasing me and saw that they were no longer there.

I spun in a circle to see where I was but noticed that everything changed in front of me and I was now standing in a huge field, it was so beautiful. There were so many different types of flowers growing in small bundles all around field. I sighed in relief that I could finally rest for a little while. That's when I realised I wasn't alone, someone was standing in this field with me.

As I stared at the figure in front of me I realised it was rose. "Rose? Is that you?" I whispered, afraid of what I would be looking at if she turned around. The figure just continued to stand there, with its back facing me. I heard her whimper and start to cry, so I jogged over to her. "Rose, are you okay? We need to get somewhere safe before they come after us!"

Rose stopped crying once I was a few feet away from her, I stopped dead in my tracks. As she turned around to face me, I pulled in a jagged breath of shock and started to back away slowly. Rose stood there and stared at me with a freaky smile on her face, I knew it was too good to be true!

Suddenly she spoke; "Look at what you did to me Melody, you were meant to protect me! We were meant to survive together! But all you have done is get me killed and replaced me with Wen!" tears slipped down my face because of the truth in her words.

"Look at you now, bitten. By me, but I didn't get a chance to finish my meal." She dragged herself towards me as she spoke. I searched my pickets for any sort of weapon I could use and found nothing. Panicking, I looked around me and found a hand gun lying by my feet. Walking backwards still, I checked the ammo. One bullet. One chance to get a clean shot in the head and put Rose out of her misery.

"One chance Melody! Either shoot me and hope you hit your target." She tapped her head with a disfigured finger. "Or shoot yourself, take the easy way out. Save yourself from going through all the pain that I'm going to put you through." Rose smiled; she knew that this was my weakness. I could kill my best friend, my sister again. "Please Rose, you know I can't I love you too much." I begged her; she knew I couldn't do it. That's why she gave me the option to kill myself, maybe some of her is still there and she doesn't want to hurt me.

She stopped walking towards me and stood there, as if thinking. "Best friends forever?" Rose whispered and then lunged for me as I brought my gun up and shot her in the head, sending blood everywhere. She fell in a heap at my feet with a thud, I looked down at her lifeless body and whispered "Forever."
